Peel the bar into lengths of 23 centimeters - this is the length we will have the outer side of the hexagon, the inner side is the cutting of the corners( the bar takes the form of a trapezoid) making a length of 18 centimeters. From above to each bar we screw screws with a piece of reiki so that it does not reach one edge to its width, but on the other hand it extends as much. Now, by combining the bars with each other, we see that we have made sure that the projecting parts of the rack are superimposed on the neighboring elements of the mold.
Surplus projections cut off. We fix the ledges of the slats on the neighboring bars with screws, and only in one joint we drill a hole and insert a nail into it so that it can be easily removed. This is necessary to ensure that after the solution has hardened and the raw mixture is converted into a tile, it is possible to unhook only one joint of the mold and, opening it, release the finished product of our handicraft production. It is better to do such forms in order to speed up the process of making tiles.
What and how can concrete slab be made?
Mix in a large container of cement and sand in a ratio of 1: 3, with a small addition of fine gravel, after which add water and mix everything thoroughly, to the consistency of the batter. Pour the mold to half, then lay directly on the solution of the galvanized metal mesh, cut by hexagon, slightly smaller than the shape, and top up the solution.
When the mixture has solidified, we will see how simply reinforced concrete tiles can be made with our own hands, the video frames of the whole process will save our achievement in edifying the descendants. But here's an ill luck, with such a primitive manufacturing process, shells may appear, reducing the strength of the material. How can we prevent their appearance?
To improve the frost resistance of homemade tiles, it is recommended to buy an inexpensive plasticizer, which will significantly improve the characteristics of the finished material.
It is known that in the factory shops the tiles are produced by vibration pressing, that is, at the time of applying a large pressure to the mixture at the same time, vibration is used, for better settling of the solution and the release of air bubbles from the .At home, it is almost impossible to combine both processes without special equipment, but in turn they can be used in full.
To do this, we need a metal workbench or a very strong wooden table, you can even have solid goats, an electric motor with an eccentric and a manual press made of a cylindrical wooden handle( for example, a shovel handle trim) with a plywood-shaped small working surface screwed into it in hexagonal form.
Electric motor fitting from the bottom to the table, put on a flat, clean surface of the mold, lubricated with soap solution( for easy extraction of finished products), then we perform all the above operations for the production of tiles. When the mold is full, turn on the motor and only make sure that the mold does not move off the countertop.
If possible, it is better to make edges along the edges of the table. After a minute of vibration, turn off the motor, take the manual press and begin to crush the cement, paying attention to the areas in the corners and near the walls, then turn on the motor and turn off the engine again after a minute, leaving the workpieces to dry.
The easiest way to make a tile yourself
In order not to waste time and effort on making molds, you can use a simpler but no less effective option how to make a tile yourself. It is enough to buy dial rings for wells, up to 12 centimeters in height( diameter is not so important), take large gravel, cement and sand, as well as colored pebbles or even smooth glass rounds for aquarium decoration.
Concrete mixture is prepared in a standard way, you can add plasticizer in the proportion indicated on its capacity. Then we pour rubble, a little not up to the top, fill the solution, press it( you can literally turn on our home-made vibrating table for 10 seconds).
To make our discs look beautiful, we grit into the liquid concrete pebbles and aquarium glass, so that they are almost flush with the surface. Where necessary, we smooth the mixture and literally for a few seconds, turn on the motor with the eccentric, so that the mixture shrinks better around the decorative elements.
When the mixture has solidified, the weighted plate discs simply roll to their intended location and are placed on a sand cushion, and a dry mixture of cement and sand is sprinkled around. By hammering our round tile into this mixture is not recommended, you can knock out the central part of the dial rings.
