Wall cladding: we select the

wood species. Before the upholstery of the walls is done, it is important to choose the type of wood from which it was made. Allocate products from coniferous and deciduous massifs. The first ones are universal, since they can be used for finishing both external and internal walls.

This is justified by the fact that this wood contains a large amount of resin, which prevents moisture and fungus from entering the interior, that is, it is a kind of antiseptic.

Of the recommended softwoods, pine, larch spruce, cedar can be distinguished. The first two trees are not rotten. Plus, the pine is also easily processed, thanks to the minimum number of knots. Larch, because of its high density, is much more difficult to process.

Spruce has a loose structure, therefore it is exposed to considerable moisture. On the other hand, this same structure allows you to store heat. Because it can be used for rooms with a minimum of humidity. Cedar is easily processed and has, in addition, a lot of healing characteristics. But it is used to make furniture more.

Birch, ash, and oak are referred to deciduous tree species. The first kind of array is well processed, with this there are no problems. But it is subject to humidity and rot. Therefore, birch is recommended to be used only in "dry" rooms.

Ash is appreciated due to its unique color - a grayish shade with a yellow and pink texture. Well, the oak has proved itself because it has a high density, it is distinguished by its durability and durability, its beautiful texture allows to use wood for finishing walls and for creating furniture.

How to properly wall the lining in the room?

Direct mounting of the lining to the wall can be carried out if the base is wooden and has an unusual smoothness. However, this happens very rarely, because, more often, the surface is made of a crate consisting of racks. But before it is important to determine whether there will be vertical or horizontal wall cladding by lining? If the direction is horizontal, the slats are placed vertically at a distance from each other in the region of 0.5-1 meters.

With vertical placement, on the contrary, the wall is trimmed with horizontal slats at a distance of 0.5-1 meters. This arrangement is important for better fastening of the lining. It is also necessary that the crate be as flat and proportionate to the vertical and horizontal sides( the slats should be mounted in the same plane).

Therefore, in the process of work, a plumb line and a level are always required. After the crate is ready, sheathing begins. Use at the same time you can use both conventional nails and kleimers for decorative finishing( their hats will not be visible).

Next, the walls are lined horizontally( preferably in narrow spaces) or vertically( to visually increase the height in low rooms). At the last stage, protective substances are applied to the coating - varnish, wax, paste and other compounds.

A few words about the care of the clapboard

It would seem that the finishing of the walls with wooden lining is completed, but after that it is also necessary to carry out some recommendations for care. First, it can not be drenched with water. Also, do not use hard detergent chemicals and strong solvents. If it was necessary to remove the stubborn stain, then it is sufficient to use a weak solvent. Small dirt is wiped off with a dry rag.

Secondly, when decorating walls in damp buildings( saunas, kitchen, bathroom) it is worth thinking about protective equipment. Thirdly, when the lining is done in rooms with a high level of humidity, it is important to fasten the strips so that the air from the reverse side always comes in for better blowing( this is with vertical placement).

With horizontal fastening, it is necessary that the water in the grooves does not stagnate. Therefore, for wet rooms, nevertheless recommend a vertical sheathing.

Please note! For varnish coating in wet rooms, the Capon, Domalux varnish is suitable. In some cases, a typical varnish for parquet is also useful. To preserve the color, use the formulations DULUX CELCO SAUNA.
