What does it take to protect concrete?

Every diligent owner wants everything that he did in the house, on the site, in the economic buildings was executed qualitatively and served for many years. Unfortunately, many building materials are not ideal and not universal, possessing excellent merits in one area, they have significant shortcomings in another.

And those modern materials that can be called "approximately universal" are very expensive. Therefore, to give the usual building materials the missing properties, different methods and methods are used. One of these methods is the fermentation of concrete .

Many concrete surfaces are constantly exposed to mechanical, chemical and physical influences. The concrete coating is affected by various chemical reagents, solar radiation, rain, endless cycles of freezing / thawing in winter and so on.

These unfavorable factors cause extremely negative effects on concrete surfaces, concrete begins to separate, peel, break, and cracks appear on it, only accelerating the process of destruction. To avoid this destructive effect as long as possible, and ironing is used.

What is the fermentation of concrete?

This is a special method that allows to significantly improve the properties of individual structural elements, increase the strength, as well as the hardness of the surface, and increase the waterproof characteristics of the material used. This method consists in applying to the concrete a dry special powder or cement and in its smoothing into the body of the structure.

For this process, various mixtures are used, in order to increase the moisture resistance of the final structure, as well as for its dustlessness, sodium aluminate, "liquid" glass, etc. are introduced into such formulations. To give increased hardness, add corundum or granite, quartz aggregate. In addition, there are various modifying additives for enhancing or imparting certain properties.

Before is used to glaze concrete , it is necessary to clearly understand that this process will not make your coating more qualitative, this method is used to give the surface additional properties that allow it to last as long as possible.

And if you originally made the wrong screed or used low-quality cement, then this method, of course, will extend the life of this coating, but not significantly.

How to glaze concrete - we master the technique

In order to carry out the ironing, it is necessary to give the freshly laid surface a little settled( about 5-7 hours). Also, to improve the properties of the treated plane, it is possible to treat the wet screed with a deep penetration primer. Surface metallization is performed by in a dry and wet .To use the dry variant, only horizontal planes are suitable. Wet method can glaze any surface.

When a dry process is applied to a concrete surface, a clean cement is sieved through a sieve with a layer of approximately 2 mm. After sieving, this layer is compacted with a plaster shovel and left. Dry cement draws moisture out of the screed and converts it into dough, which must be thoroughly ironed.

In the wet process, a diluted special solution is applied to the surface and smoothed with a plaster shovel to a clean and smooth surface. After carrying out all technological procedures, the concrete is allowed to harden completely, without forgetting to moisten it. After drying( about a week), you can cover the surface with a polymer composition. To give concrete a more aesthetic appearance as a grout you can use colored cements.
