Types of
fittings There are different types of fittings depending on where they are to be used:
- bends, angles. These products are needed to change the flow direction by 45-120 degrees;
- crossings. It is necessary for a branch of one direction to two;
- tees, manifolds and outlets. Create one branch from the common trunk pipeline;
- adapter. It is intended for connection of different systems by different methods. Still other such products name a drive, futorkom, "American" and nipple;
- coupling. Stops the same pipes in a straight section;
- fitting. Typically, it is used to connect the system to a flexible hose;
- plugs, plugs, caps. These products are used to seal the ends of system components tightly.
More often fittings are made of ferrous metals, for example, their malleable cast iron or steel. If non-ferrous metal is used to make products, then it is usually brass or copper. Plastic fittings should only be used for plastic pipes. Direct fittings are those whose connecting ends have the same diameter, and in the case where the fastening ends have different diameters - transitional.
Classification
Joints for metal pipes are divided into:
- welded;
- threaded;
- flanged;
- crimping tools.
Threaded fittings are made with cylindrical threads, and they are designed for gas and water supply systems. To make the connection sealed, a linen strand moistened with iron wire, a FUM tape or a special sealing thread is used. Connectors for water or gas pipelines are made of steel and cast iron.
Important! The inner and outer surfaces of the fitting must be smooth.
On the edge of the cast iron part, a special bead with a thickening is made, which provides additional strength to the fitting. As a rule, elements for connecting pipes are produced with a nominal conduit diameter( 8-100 mm).Such products are used for pipeline systems in which the temperature of the working fluid is not more than 175 degrees Celsius and the pressure is not more than 1.6 MPa.
Description of crimp connection elements
Fittings made of galvanized steel are universal. In stainless steel pipes, couplings are used to connect parts with smooth ends. In this case, deviation from the axis of the joint details by 3 degrees in any direction is possible. The connecting elements can be used repeatedly if the gaskets are changed in a timely manner.
Crimp fittings for steel pipes connect them without thread or welding. Such products are available with one or two seal rings, which can be made from a variety of materials. Crimping parts ensure reliable sealing of the gas medium and tube girth, they are easy to install, and they can be used many times, they also have high resistance to vibration fatigue and a reliable connection of the elements of the system.
Coupling elements having two O-rings are widely used for piping of instrumentation and instrumentation equipment, in compressor and gas-tube devices, metrology, and also in all high-pressure systems.
Important! Crimp fittings can be used for calibrated tubes with a small diameter of stainless steel.
