Types of beams
All beams have their own classification, based on clear parameters. These factors are taken into account: designation, manufacturing technology, technical data, shelf edges, their location and width. By type, they are divided into divided and continuous. Also there are beams, in which the shelves are placed in parallel. They are wide-banded, normal and columnar.
Another criterion for distinguishing beams is their length. There are 5 types: dimensional;multiple dimensional;dimensional with account for 5% of the remainder of the total lot weight;multiple dimensional taking into account 5% of the remainder of the total mass of the batch;the beams are immeasurable.
Important! The remains are considered to be a profile of at least three meters in length.
In a separate group are classified beams, which are made of metal with a coating of zinc. This coating makes the profiles well protected from corrosion, which extends the life of the entire system. These profiles are often used as a frame for multi-storey buildings, for the manufacture of gates, window frames, hinged facades, etc.

Each type of beams has its own GOST and marking, which makes it possible to accurately locate the desired products. However, we should clearly understand them.
Important! All types of beams are divided into varieties.
Welded beams exist in two types: for shafts( C) and for suspension ways( M).Rolling is of high precision( A) and standard accuracy( B).At the request of the customer beams are made from 4 to 13 meters in length.
The main letters:
- "U" - with a narrow strip;
- "B" - the standard band;
- "Ш" - a wide band;
- "D" - the middle band is a special group with an average width;
- "K" - column - shelves in width are equal to the length of the profile;
- "M" - for suspension tracks.
Most plants are producing according to GOSTs, but it is also possible to issue certain technical specifications that differ from state standards. This allows buyers to purchase I-beams that do not need further processing and fitting.
Steel floor beams and their production
Steel joists are manufactured in two different ways: rolling and welding. From the type of fabrication and the name of I-beams is produced - hot-rolled steel and welded beams. From the way in which the product was manufactured, its cost depends. However, due to the presence of GOSTs, which regulate the manufacturing process, the main characteristics of strength do not change, which makes both types of beams very reliable and qualitative.
In the welding type of production, the steel is cut into strips on a special apparatus for thermal cutting. Further on the assembly machine the beams are assembled and welded under the flux. Rolling production system consists in rolling the whole hot metal to the desired shape. The next stage is common for two types, drilling holes, cleaning and painting.
