Materials for bunk beds

To build your own bunk bed you will need the following materials:

• boards: 30 x 30, 18 x 140, 40 x 140 and 40 x 80 mm. If desired, the wood can be completely replaced with laminated chipboard. In this case, the construction process will be even less time-consuming.

• materials for the base on which the mattress will fit - 3 steel pipes( diameter will be chosen per eye), 2 sheets of plywood, as well as screws 3.5 x 40 mm and glue.

In addition, you will need tools for the primary processing of the bars in the workshop: a hacksaw, a level, a screwdriver, a tape measure, a metal detector and a milling machine.

The process of manufacturing a bunk bed

1. At the initial stage, take 50 mm bars and connect them with screws. In this way, you will make two frames for the future bed.( Use only good reliable fasteners.) Remember that loose parts of the structure can damage your health when you start using the product.)
   
2. The board 150 x 20 mm is screwed to the end and one side of the frame. On the upper bench is also installed a side 200 x 20 mm.
3. The legs of your bunk bed are made of 50 mm beams. To get the end of the L-shaped form, two bars should be joined along the length. The length of the foot should be equal to the height of the fence, which is located on the second tier.
4. Next, you need to drill a hole in the leg. It is through this hole will be attached to the second tier of the bed.
5. At the next stage, the rackmount profiles are attached to the wall. After that, we expose the frame by level.
6. Now we make fencing for a bunk bed. Boards of 20 x 100 mm are fastened on racks from a bar.
7. For the manufacture of stairs, take two bars that will be used as guides. Steps are fixed with 6 mm bolts.
8. Now on both frames we lay plywood foxes and mattresses. Our bunk bed is ready!

By the way, such a design can be disassembled without much effort if necessary. You just need to unscrew all the screws and bolts.
