What do the letters mean?
You can find stickers with Latin letters A, B, C, D, E, G in household appliances stores. This is a conventional symbol of energy consumption classification symbolizing the degree of economy of each particular model. In other words, how much a specific refrigerator consumes electricity in a certain period of time( day, month).
According to the principle of the western system of school assessments, A is the highest class, and then on decreasing. Initially there were seven classes, but progress does not stand still, and what was economical before, now already has averaged indicators. To date, two classes A + and A ++ have been added, where two pluses mean the lowest possible electricity consumption. A few years ago, A, B, C were the leaders of high-tech and economy, now only A ++, A +, A and to a lesser extent B, while C, D are very average, but EG -maliciously spend precious energy.
Where do these values come from?
To determine how many kilowatts a particular refrigerator will be used per month, and whether it is economical, calculations are performed based on the volume of the camera of the device, and the minimum temperature that can be there. Plus the class of energy consumption of the refrigerator is affected by additional functions, if they are( auto-defrost, TV, icemaker, etc.).The best class possible for refrigerators is the highest A ++, but the electricity consumption( kW) per month will be permissible in A +, and in A, and in B-classes.
Why pay more?
Over the past 15 years, the number of buyers choosing expensive class A electric energy refrigerators has grown by about 15%, while the number of B class refrigerators has become almost as small. The only lower level of energy efficiency - class C - is in danger of disappearing from the world market in the coming years.
If in practice the economy goes insignificant, then why is there such growth in sales? Moreover, according to polls it is clear that people who purchase expensive equipment, as a rule, remain completely satisfied with it. First, the psychological aspect: an expensive thing is a good thing. Secondly, the cause and effect relationship: since the company began to deal with not so necessary a reduction in energy consumption, it means that everything else has already been improved. And thirdly, such new technologies are usually rewarded with obviously better technique.
Overpay for the energy class of the refrigerator or not - it's a personal preference. At the moment, both upper classes( A and B) are perfect for everyday life.
