This article is aimed at people who are not professional builders. The fact is that such a shower tray is quite easy to make by oneself, without resorting to the services of specialists. Yes, and buy a ready pallet( and there are quite a lot of them in the market of sanitary ware) is not necessary, because not all of them can come either in size or in execution. In addition, they have, depending on the material, certain drawbacks. And you can make yourself any pallet yourself: both in form and design. After all, all the houses, bathrooms( shower) rooms - are individual, everywhere there are some features, including in the design of the room, and in its dimensions.
General information on the shower tray
As a rule, in individual construction( and in urban apartments) the floors in the bathroom are poured with concrete. So, we can assume that the primary concrete floor screed already exists. Therefore, it is best to make a pallet using ceramic tiles. Today you can buy tiles for every taste. Especially because it also produces, as a rule, and the finishing of walls in the shower room. And if you "lift" the walls and increase the dimensions of the pallet, it will turn into a full bath.
If the pallet is arranged in a wooden structure( for example, a bath), then the walls from the concrete floor are insulated with roofing material and polyethylene film. In fact, the pallet is a concrete floor with ceramic tiles laid on top. On the perimeter of the base of the pallet a wall is constructed, which is also covered with tiles. Under the base there is a canal for draining water, which has a drainage hole on the surface of the bottom of the pallet. All parts of the floor are made with a slight inclination towards it. Where to place the drain hole, it does not matter. The main thing is that it does not interfere with the normal washing, and that it was convenient to equip the floor.
The
water drain system This is the first thing you should get started with. It has already been pointed out that the presence of a concrete screed is implied. If there is already a floor covered with tiles, then it should be removed.
To the note. We need to take this moment into account. The water in the sewer pipe must go "by a stream".Hence, from the drain hole to the common sewage pipe, the branch pipe must be laid with a slope towards the sewage system - otherwise the water will simply stand.
Therefore, you need to foresee everything. Probably, the pallet should be lifted( to do on an eminence).To do this, you will need to arrange an additional formwork and "raise" the concrete floor base in this place( something like a pedestal under the shower).
It is recommended that the water drainage angle be at least 3 degrees. Maybe it's worth considering such an option: do not connect the tap to the sewage pipe in the house( the pipe, as a rule, at the floor level), but to lead directly to the street, to the well. But this is by the circumstances, the main thing is to ensure the deviation.
Step-by-step arrangement of the
- The shower ladder( drain neck) and the discharge pipe are installed. The gangway and pipes are stacked on "stands".It is better to use wooden chocks, since they will need different heights to ensure the slope of the discharge pipes. Pipes are recommended to use plastic, and drain ladder too. They fit well, and there will be no leaks in the future, and it's much easier to mount them. Plus - they are durable than metal pipes;
- The primary concrete floor screed is made, as - I already told( if the level of the pallet needs to be raised).Screed or fill the entire room, or just under the pallet;
- Fencing walls are made next. There can be two options. The first option is a formwork, into which a concrete solution is then poured. Such walls can then be easily tiled. The second option - the wall can be laid out of the brick, and then apply a few layers of plaster, and then - tile. It is already more convenient for anyone, but the purpose of the wall is understandable. It prevents spreading of water throughout the room;
- After the walls are ready, a concrete screed of the bottom of the pallet is made with a slope toward the drain neck. How to do this depends on the selected pallet geometry. But the water must flow from the bottom to the drain from any point of the surface. Especially to align the screed there is no sense, since full alignment will be done when laying the tiles. The level of this screed should be such that the drain hole is exactly at the level of the laid ceramic tiles;
- The dried screed and walls are primed and treated with a waterproofing compound;
- The final finish of the pallet - facing it with ceramic tiles.
It should be noted that in a city apartment a massive pallet is not recommended - it will create an excessive load on the slabs. Independently to make all calculations is unlikely to work, so you will need to consult a specialist.
