Choosing the way to fix

After the material for decoration is selected, it's time to think about the way it is attached to the wall surface. Here you have several options:

on self-tapping screws. This method will require you to drill a lot of holes: both in the panels themselves and in the surface to be trimmed. At the same time, you will ensure not only the saving of space due to the refusal to build the frame, but also the ease of dismantling the finishing material, if necessary;
for adhesive formulations .The fastest way, perfect for small areas and bathrooms with perfectly smooth walls. Modern adhesive compounds will allow to fasten plastic panels "tightly";
on a special frame ( ideal for spacious rooms with uneven walls).With this method of fixing, plastic guides are installed on the walls, on which the finishing panels are subsequently attached.

Installation of plastic panels with a frameless method

The finishing of a bathroom with plastic panels, made by fixing them on self-tapping screws, will require you to have minimum skills in working with a tape measure, a mounting knife and screwdrivers. Decide in which direction you will attach the finishing material, measure the length of the panels necessary for the method of installation chosen by you and proceed to their direct installation.

If you decide to install PVC panels with glue compounds, you do not need to drill holes. Nevertheless, you still have to spend time on cleaning and degreasing the work surface: otherwise the glue will not "grasp" and in the process of operating the room, the finishing material will begin to move away from the surface of the walls. After cleaning and degreasing the surface, you can proceed to gluing plastic elements. Try to closely monitor the correct placement of the material, as tearing off the plastic from the wall after the drying of the adhesive will not be easy.

Installation of PVC panels on the lath

The finishing of the bathroom with PVC panels installed on a special frame is a laborious task. Nevertheless, the ability to quickly make smooth even the most uneven walls makes this kind of finish very popular these days.

Before beginning the installation, clean the laths, and treat them with antifungal wall formulations. Align those areas of the surface on which you plan to attach the guide rails. The more often you put the rails of the crate, the stronger will be the final design. The optimal distance for installing the guides is 40-50 cm

Frame rails fix perpendicularly with respect to the future location of PVC panels( the best option for finishing the bathroom is the vertical fixing of plastic elements).

Having finished with the installation of the battens, you can proceed to fasten the panels themselves. Do this by using screws that are screwed directly into the guides. Work start from the far corner relative to the entrance: this will allow you to hide under the door casings the ugly joints that can form when the last panel is fastened.

Now you only need to close the joints of the plastic panels with the floor and ceiling by installing special decorative skirting boards.
