Aviary for dogs with their own hands - materials, place, construction

If you decide to make an enclosure for your dog yourself, and not buy ready or not to order "on the side", then you need to have at least some elementary knowledge of the issue of "such" construction. This is applied materials, and the placement, and manufacturing technology.

It is clear that you can see somewhere how the cage is made and build it in the "image and likeness", but will there be any certainty that this is already installed "right"?And if it is correct, will the same enclosure be suitable for its own dog? Therefore, first of all, it is necessary to understand, and what for it is necessary, an enclosure for a dog, and what should it be?

Answering the question about the appointment of the enclosure, we can say briefly - this is for the dog and the house, and the "household plot".Therefore, such a construction should be convenient for the residence of our dog, and not the dog "in general".

They, like people, are all different. It is necessary that our pet had, firstly, his house( a warm booth). But to clean something in this "private sector" will not be a dog, but its owner. Therefore, this should be taken into account when determining the size of the enclosure. In other words, it should be

's more spacious .

Dimensions of the enclosure

Speaking about the dimensions, it should be said that the maximum dimensions of the enclosures are not specified anywhere. The determining factor here is the availability of free territory on the site of the owner of the dog. But the minimum limits are defined. The smallest side should be 2 m or more. The area of the entire territory that the aviary will occupy depends on the growth of the dog. They are divided on this basis into 3 "growth": small, medium and high. For stunted dogs( height up to 50 cm), the area of the enclosure is 6 m2, for medium growth( 50 - 65 cm), add a couple of "squares", and for tall dogs( more than 65 cm) - the area will be already 10 m2.

But do not forget that this is the limit, the minimum. By the way, to all this there are two reservations. If at night the owner releases the dog on the territory of his infield( for example, for protection), then the specified size can be reduced, since the need for a place for walking is automatically eliminated is the first. And secondly, if an enclosure is being built in which a bitch will be kept, it should be taken into account that puppies will also appear in the future. Therefore, the size of the area is slightly increased.

Choose a place for the enclosure

So, with the dimensions already clear. And there is free space on the territory, and not even one. Where is the best way to arrange the enclosure? Place, if possible, you need to choose the most dry( hence, the most "high" on the site). It is advisable that near the enclosure there are objects that give shade( trees, buildings) in sunny weather. However, they should not completely obscure the aviary from natural light. You can not put aviaries near places where the air is heavily polluted( garbage dump, cesspool, garage with its exhaust fumes, etc.).

Any aviary consists of three zones: a dog house( winter road), a platform and a platform. Why a booth is needed, I see. A platform is necessary for the dog to lie down, "to soak up" not on cold ground, but on a tree. A platform is a place where a dog can and run - jump.

You need to select the right materials. Specialists recommend the use of grooved boards( for "deaf" walls). In general, any building material should be environmentally friendly, no synthetics. And the "iron" is smaller. Nails are not recommended, as the dog can ever get hurt. All connections should be made on screws, bolts, clamps, welding, etc.

Construction of the dog "residence"

As already mentioned, the size of the enclosure is chosen arbitrarily. However, it is necessary to follow the recommendations that apply to all such structures without exception. The walls of the booth, as already indicated, are better made of boards, and this question we have similarly discussed. You can use a profile that will act as a "guide", on which the assembly will take place. This will facilitate the work and strengthen the structure. The boards to the profile are bolted. Paul is better done prefab. This will facilitate, if necessary, its repair. It should be raised above the ground in order to have good ventilation in the booth, and there was no mold and musty smell.

It should be noted that the floor should have a small inclination towards the front. This will ensure the flow of water in the booth and facilitate its cleaning. The roof is better covered with tiles or slate. The metal roof is very hot, and during the rain it will be "ringing".Moreover, the roof should also have a slope for water drainage. The slope of both the roof and the floor is done in one direction. One wall of the booth should be latticed - the dog should see the adjacent territory.

Doors and booths, and the entire enclosure should only be opened inside and bolted. General fencing is done( as an option) from pipes and rods. For some reason, some experienced dog breeders do not recommend using a metal mesh.

Before you start building an enclosure with your own hands, you still need to objectively assess your abilities and skills. Perhaps, it is much more expedient to do most of the work( the most time-consuming work) yourself, and some ready-made elements of the enclosure to buy or order in a specialized organization. But it's everyone who decides for himself. The main thing is for a four-footed friend to be both comfortable and comfortable.
