Rolled materials
Rolled roofs are produced on the basis of bitumen-polymer and bituminous materials with reinforcing base. The most common types of such roofing are roofing felt, glassine and tol. All of them are united by the fact that cardboard is the basis. The main disadvantage of this material is short-lived, unstable to rot and poor frost resistance.
In this regard, they are used in places where it is not possible to use other materials. Such a roof lies in the form of a waterproofing carpet in 3-4 layers. Roofing on the basis of bitumen-polymer in the composition has polyester, which prevents rotting. Another type of roofing is mastic. This is a polymer membrane that forms directly on the roof. It turns out such a coating by applying to the surface( most often concrete) of liquid-viscous materials that cover the surface with a continuous layer.
Mastic perfectly adheres to concrete, metal and is especially well suited for processing adjacent nodes. Roofing mastics are resistant to aggressive conditions, oxidation, are not exposed to corrosion and tolerate temperature changes from -40 to +100 degrees Celsius. In addition, they are elastic, durable and light in weight.
Note! Mastic as a coating for the roof is particularly good in climatic zones with a harsh climate.
leaf types Roofs are also represented by a large group of sheet materials. The first in this area appeared sheets based on asbestos and cement( slate), then sheets of galvanized steel and aluminum and the last - metal.
Slate is a durable material that can serve up to 50 years. It is made by mixing short-wave asbestos and Portland cement. To increase the life of the slate, it is covered with special paints. The paint increases the ability of the material to repel moisture and increases its resistance to frost.
Note! There is a variety of slate - Euroshifter, which lacks many drawbacks of conventional material, but its service life is half as much.
Steel and aluminum galvanized sheet - it is much more durable and durable material than slate. Such sheets can be used for many years( more than 50).However, if unfavorable factors act on it, for example, acid rain, the service life will decrease, as more intense corrosion of the metal begins. For additional protection, the surface is painted with different compositions.
Metal tile is one of the types of steel sheet with a polymer coating. The material is subjected to profiling to obtain a pattern that simulates a real shingles. The sheet consists of several layers( polymer, passivation layer, primer), which provides it with reliable protection against moisture, oxidation during cutting and mechanical damage. The main advantages are light weight, easy installation, long service life and environmental cleanliness. The disadvantages include the ringing of the cover during the rain and snow movements.
Piece roofing - difficult but reliable
The last group of roofs is piece materials. This is one of the oldest ways to cover the roof. Consider what types of roofing are made of piece materials:
- Ceramic tiles are reliable, durable, resistant to fire and temperature changes. Its main advantage lies in its low thermal conductivity and good noise absorption properties. The drawbacks undoubtedly include its great weight, which makes it necessary to build a robust construction of rafters;
Note! The large weight of the roof means better resistance to wind gusts.
- Cement-sand tiles are a kind of tile, which in all respects is similar to it, except for a shorter service life. Its weight is slightly smaller, but it is not recommended to put it on lightweight designs;
- Metal tiles( not metal) is a profiled galvanized sheet of metal with a mineral granulator coating applied to the surface. It is an excellent imitation of ceramic tiles;
- Soft tiles are thin, different shapes of glass fiber tiles, asbestos board impregnated with bitumen, and mineral crumbs. Such material is perfectly suitable for mounting on roofs with a complex configuration. It is quite light, and the service life is 30-50 years.
