The main factor, due to which the skewing of the roofing occurs, is the drying of the wood substrate. Displacement is also evident during the operation of the building for its intended purpose. In those times of the year, when the use of heating is required, the walls of the building shrink and settle. Most of the shrinkage is exposed to the main( central) wall of the house.

The density of the structure changes also under the influence of the season. During heavy rains, the walls "soak", increasing in volume, in winter - under the influence of low temperature are compressed. From different directions the walls have different temperatures. They need a balance in the event of their uneven drying and subsidence.

The sliding support is designed to align, smooth the settling sections of the walls and hold the truss system. The roof can give "failures" in different parts of its structure, contributing to the appearance of depressions, hillocks. This affects the structure of the house as a whole. Sliding support removes displacements, preserves the shape of the roof.

What, in particular, is the sliding support for the "legs" of the roof:

  • Angle
  • Guide rail( bracket)

The bracket is mounted on a solid beam. The corner is made of a loop that connects to the bracket with one edge, the second edge attached to the raised edge of the log. Such installation allows the guide structure to have its own radius of permissible movement, depending on the roof layout and the possible level of its landing.

The leg support is as follows:

  1. Made of steel plate( 0.2 centimeter thickness)
  2. The corner is created according to the classic parameters: height - 0,9 centimeters, width - 0,4 centimeters.
  3. It also has anti-rust protection
  4. The sliding support made of ordinary non-stainless and non-galvanized steel is covered with ordinary paint

Installation of the roof support

We recommend the following:

  • The fixed corner is attached to the upper fastening of the crate, perpendicular to the base and by its sliding
  • Logpre-processed. Its surface is sharpened under the corner
  • . The guide fastener is attached to the foot of the truss, and it connects to the roof ridge
  • . The assembly of the rafters is performed in the center of the roof ridge in a hinged connection, changing their slope angle.

  • The hinged connection method is performed using steel sheets with perforations( see photo).The sheets are fastened together by pins or special fasteners with a stainless base.

  • The construction scheme provides for the installation of a rafter system of their wooden beams with a ridge support on the main( central) wall.
  • The upper construction of the rafters is fastened to the ridge board with screws or bolts. Sliding support - to the bottom of the rafters. The parameters of fasteners are determined by the range of the rafters' displacement from the Mauerlat( beams).
  • The foot of the rafters can be cut into beams and placed on top of them.
