Before you make a pediment, you need to know what material is used to build it. The material for the erection of this part of the house, as well as its construction, will depend on the technology used to construct the building. If it is a continuation of the outer wall, then it can be made of the same material from which the house itself is built.
The pedestal can also be a separate structure. In this case, it can be built from metal or reinforced concrete supports, or from wooden vertical beams. Then this structure is covered with any material: siding, facing panels, block house, decorative trim and so on.
Do not forget that the design should be strengthened, because with a strong headwind, it is under heavy load.
Installation and necessary calculations

Before you begin its erection, you need to know how to calculate the area of the pediment. To do this, find out its height and width. If it has the shape of an isosceles triangle, then the calculation is made by multiplying its height by half the width.
Before calculating the pediment, it is necessary to raise it from angle to corner by two or three rows of brickwork. This is done for unobstructed installation and fixation of the Mauerlat, and the correct addition of inclined rafters to the gable. If this is not done, the Mauerlat and the rafters will support it, and this will create a serious problem when installing the roof.

The installation of the gable begins with marking. If it is in the shape of an isosceles triangle, then along the center of the wall a wooden strip is fixed, the length of which should correspond to the height of the pediment. From the top of the rack to the corners of the wall stretches the nylon cord.
Thus, there should be an imaginary triangle, where the top end of the rail is its top, the wall is its base, and the kapron cords are its sides .If it has the form of an irregular triangle, then the rail must be moved to the desired direction.
The laying of the pediment is carried out as follows: first it is necessary to try the brick without mortar, that is, by leaning it against the tight cord, make a mark and cut off the corner from it. This is done to ensure that the design does not turn out to be jagged. When cutting, account must be taken of the thickness of the masonry seam. On the cord you need to cut the gable all over the thickness.
This way it is laid out to the top, after which its sides are leveled with the solution, if necessary. That it was stable and reliable, you need to know how to strengthen the pediment. To do this, every four to five rows of brickwork should be placed reinforcing mesh. To give it extra rigidity, a reinforcing wall is erected perpendicularly inside the mansard floor.
