Projects and materials for the construction of a shed with their own hands

Building a barn with your own hands is not such a difficult task as many people think.

Everyone knows that the household block is an indispensable thing in any section of private households.

In the shed you can store household, garden tools, building materials.

Someone uses it for breeding birds, pigs, other animals, some arrange in the shed a summer shower, a bathroom, and someone builds an attic and uses it as a guest house.

In any case, the range of application of the building is wide enough, and its construction you can perform independently.

How to build a shed with your own hands, without resorting to the help of specialists, we will tell below.

The building consists of several stages.

To build a barn to give yourself, you need:

  • Choose the material from which you plan to build a shed with your own hands;
  • Make a design of the farm, determine the location. Drawings for future construction are required. They will allow you to correctly place the future construction on the land, calculate the necessary amount of materials, determine the purpose of the farm;
  • Prepare a set of necessary tools, materials for construction;
  • Build a barn.

How to build a barn?

So, the first thing you need to do before you build a barn is to determine the material from which you want to build. At present, the choice is quite large.

This is a tree and sheets of corrugated board( the most popular material for construction), and aerated concrete blocks, and other materials.

Depending on the construction material, which you prefer, will depend on the service life of the shed, as well as the duration of its construction.

So, for example, the construction of wooden boards is erected within one to two days. The construction of profiled sheeting and profile pipes is not only a quick, but also an economical way of erection.

Barns made of boards and corrugated board are made on an inexpensive foundation, they are called frame-like structures.

A brick or stone shed is being built longer, when it is erected it is necessary to comply with building codes and rules, but it is erected once and "for centuries", a solid foundation and stone walls are formed on the principle of capital construction.

The brick can be replaced with foam concrete or gas blocks.

The video shows the types of sheds from various materials.

Plastic sheds can be bought already assembled or disassembled, this type of construction takes one to two hours, usually used in the summer period to store gardening equipment.

The Hozblok can be either a stand-alone building, or be attached to the house. In the second case, the building often happens with a saddle roof.

From what will be your construction, what material you choose, depends largely on its purpose, your building skills and financial capabilities.

The most preferred variant is a frame structure made using a wooden beam or profile pipe.

How to build a frame shed with your own hands from this material, we will tell below.

The next step is to design the

design. The shed project is an important step in the construction. So, if you want to build a capital house, you may need to register a building in the Technical Inventory Bureau, in this case, the presence of drawings is mandatory.

And they must be in accordance with the building codes.

Thanks to the project, you can finally determine the size of the future construction, and therefore determine the location of the household block, calculate the amount of material that will be required during construction.

Sheds are usually built in standard sizes: 3х3, 3х4, 3х5, 3х6, 5х5 meters, they can include several zones for different purposes.

Examples of using the shed are shown in the photo below.

The project will help you make zoning.

What will it take to build a shed?

Selecting the material and calculating its number, drawing a draft shed, determining what the structure will be used for, you can proceed to construction.

For this you need to prepare the basic set of tools that you will need in the construction process:

  • building level;
  • plumb line;
  • measuring tape;
  • drill;
  • screwdriver;
  • screwdriver;
  • shovel;
  • hammer;
  • self-tapping screws;
  • anchor bolts;
  • metal corners;
  • wooden lintels;
  • rebar.

For frame barn made of corrugated board, sheets of profiled sheeting and profile pipes will be needed. The frame can also be made of a wooden beam.

For a roof, you need a roofing material, tiles, plywood sheets, a covering of wooden boards and so on, depending on the roofing material you have chosen.

Building a barn-step-by-step instruction

Having prepared all the materials, you can step-by-step to erect it.

Like any other building, the hozblok is being built in several stages. The simplest version of the building is a shed of profiled sheeting. Construction instruction is as follows.

Laying the foundation

The first thing that any construction begins with is laying the foundation. However, before its formation, before building a shed with your own hands, it is necessary to make its markings.

For this purpose, pegs are driven into the perimeter of the future building and twine is stretched to make it easier to follow the level of the foundation to be installed.

For a shed of corrugated board, a strip foundation is often made. You can make this foundation under the shed with your own hands. To do this, you need to dig a base three meters wide.

Around it, around the perimeter, a trench 30 cm deep is formed, into which the reinforcement( iron bars) is installed and poured with cement. Form the so-called formwork.

Inside the formwork( in the excavation) is laid a sand cushion, on top of which lay a layer of crushed stone. From above pour concrete, periodically tapping it to avoid air layers.

To ensure that the foundation is not gnawed rodents( mice, ferrets, moles, etc.), inside it are covered with expanded clay. After the concrete has solidified, the formwork is removed. The photo of the foundation is presented below.

Foundation under the barn

The process of forming the basement can be seen in the video in the section.

For a basement floor, the floor is made of wooden boards, plywood, sheets of particle board, you can make a cement screed, but its layer should be thin.

Foundations, except tape, are monolithic, columnar, of concrete blocks.

Choose the foundation, depending on the material from which the construction of the outbuilding is planned.

Mounting the frame

The second step is the erection of the floor of the building. Here you can use several options.

Easier and more economical from a 20-centimeter wooden beam, which is laid on the reinforced "litter", on top of the timber is laid a wooden flooring.

Or an expensive option - reinforced concrete overlap with the installation of formwork.

After the overlap is ready, go directly to the construction of the frame. It is erected from a square shaped pipe or wooden beam.

The skeleton begins with the installation of the first layer of beams( lower strapping).Strapping is fastened together with the help of metal corners, with the help of them it is possible to attach the beams or profile pipes to the foundation.

For stronger fixing of the base from a wooden beam, the parts are fastened together by the ends in the grooves. An example of such a fastening is presented in the photo.

Fastening of a bar

Important! The frame is erected only after the foundation has hardened.

After that, the bolts are fastened to the anchor bolts along the perimeter. The distance between the fasteners is 1 meter.

And with the help of screws, vertical stands are installed at a distance of 60-70 centimeters from each other. The height of the racks is equal to the height of the future building.

In case you are planning to make a hozblok with a saddle roof, one side of the frame will be higher.

With a straight roof - all sides are built in the same height. However, a direct roof is not rational in use, rainwater will accumulate and destroy the roof, so it is better to make a ramp.

To vertical uprights from below upwards from a wooden bar or a profile pipe horizontal cross-pieces are fixed.

If your building has windows and doors, do not forget to take this into account when fixing the horizontal racks.

The frame must be rigid, for this use wooden lintels. Frame parts are fastened together with metal corners.

It is imperative that during the installation, it is necessary to control the level of horizontal and vertical overlapping by means of the level.

In case if you used wooden components for the construction of the frame, it is necessary to treat them with an antiseptic that will prolong the period of their operation and protect them from fungi and mold.

Sheets of corrugated board are mounted on the finished frame using self-tapping screws( approximately 6-8 screws per square meter), overlap to avoid cracks.

Fastening of corrugated board starts from the long sides of the shed.

Finishing activities

Depending on the climate, the hobblock can be insulated. After the walls have been sheathed with sheets of corrugated board, inside the walls the distance between the posts is filled with a heater.

You can use foam or mineral wool as insulation. Over the insulation inside the shed make the plasterboard plasterboard. Treated with antiseptic and covered with paint or wallpaper.

Instead of gypsum cardboard, interior walls can be sewed with siding, lining or other material at your discretion.

After warming the walls, we proceed to install the floor. The most practical in the barn will be the concrete floor.

For its formation along the perimeter of the construction a wooden partition is installed, the interior space is covered with crushed stone and poured with concrete.

The flooring can be wooden, for this lay the lag on which the floorboards are mounted.

Door and window openings are formed during the construction phase of the frame. The door for the shed can be made independently using the same material from which the shed was built.

Square profile pipes are welded together, forming a frame, a sheet of corrugated sheet is attached from above.

On one side of the door and on the vertical opening, the hinges are fastened to which the door hangs. The door made of corrugated board made by own hands can be seen on the following photo.

Doors and barn made from corrugated board

If your building is insulated, then it is necessary to insulate the door. It is installed in the door frame.

One of the last stages is the installation of the roof. Its construction is similar to the erection of the walls of the barn.

However, instead of vertical racks over the frame, rafters are laid from a profile pipe or a wooden beam at a distance of 1 meter.

If the construction will be with a saddle roof, then the roof angle should be 8 degrees. The battens of the battens are mounted to each other at the same distance.

If as a roof you will use a soft material, for example, roofing felt or roof tiles, then the plywood sheets must be laid on the crate.

Photo:

Slate, corrugated board, metal tiles from household buildings can be attached directly to the rafters.

Again, here the choice depends on what kind of construction you do - insulated or not.

At the rear of the roof, the rainwater drainage chute must be secured to prevent leakage and destruction of the shed foundation.
