Basic rules for placing

So, the first thing you need to know is the requirements for the arrangement of lighting devices. For the light to be of high quality and maximum efficiency, it is recommended to place the products according to the following rules:

  1. The minimum distance from the edge of the wall to the spotlights on the ceiling should be 20 cm.
  2. The chandelier should be hung strictly in the center of the ceiling. If this is a studio - it is better to place it in the middle of a certain zone( living room or kitchen), starting from the interior of the room.
  3. In the case of suspended ceilings, the distance from the recessed luminaires to the seam of the PVC film must be at least 15 cm.
  4. One spot can illuminate no more than 2 m2 of the room. Better when calculating the number of spotlights proceed from the fact that one product will provide sufficient illumination of 1.5 m2.
  5. If you decide to arrange a symmetrical placement of ceiling lights, make sure that the products are installed at the same distance from each other and the walls.

Regarding the rules for the location of luminaires relative to windows, especially no one this moment does not specify. With respect to window openings, you can place products as you like. The main thing is that the lighting zone should be as effective as possible, i.e.light fell on any objects.

Given these recommendations, it will be easier for you to locate LED spots on a suspended, tension or even a rack ceiling. Now we will consider what are the schemes of placing products.

The best layout of the

At the moment when designing ceiling lighting, the following options for the arrangement of spots and chandeliers are used:

Layout plan

Each way of arranging spotlights is unique in its own way and will not work absolutely for every room. That is why below we will provide photos of examples of placement of lighting fixtures for all rooms in an apartment / house: kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, living room and even a corridor. During the reviews of each specific location option, we will also indicate the corresponding figure, according to which scheme it is better to arrange the fixtures.

Photo lighting examples

Corridor

Since corridors are often in apartments( especially in the Khrushchevka) not very comfortable layouts - long and narrow, G shaped or small square, the placement of lamps on the ceiling in this room is purely individual. In rectangular and long hallways it is recommended to arrange spots along the gypsum plasterboard ceiling in the center or symmetrically opposite to each other. Examples of the location of products you can see in the photo and pictures below:

Kitchen

In the kitchen it is recommended to place the chandelier over the dining table, and in the working area to make the lighting spotlights. The most relevant schemes in this case are 2, 5, 8 and 9. Note the placement of the lighting fixtures in a zigzag. We advise using this variant of the arrangement in order to spot only the most necessary kitchen areas, bypassing cabinets, stretching, etc.

Room

In the hall you can place spotlights as you like - around the chandelier, at the corners of the square, oval in the center of the ceiling and even a diamond. You can do without the chandelier, choosing the location of the ceiling spots around, which will make a muted illumination in the living room. Particular attention is advised to give the scheme number 5 - it will be comfortable for watching movies, tk.allows you to distinguish the room in a dark and lighted zone.

If you do not know how to arrange spot lights with a chandelier on the ceiling and you do not have any special requirements for placement, we recommend you to choose the scheme 6, which is the classics of the genre for the hall. Also, for reading books you can place on the wall above the couch sofa.

Bedroom

In the bedroom, bright lighting is not needed at all, so you can think about whether you need a chandelier at all. In modern interiors of bedrooms more and more there are built-in and overhead spotlights, which are placed in a circle or an oval. It is also recommended to arrange the spots in a zigzag pattern or in staggered order to give the ceiling light some raisin. For reading, you can place a bra above the bed, which is quite enough.

Children's

As the child is most often divided into 2 zones: for study and sleep, it is recommended to place lighting devices according to scheme 9. Spot lights can be installed above the desk to make this area brighter, and for general lighting use a chandelier. The remaining recommendations on the coverage of the children's room, we provided in a relevant article.

Bathroom

Well, the last of the rooms is a bathroom. Here everything, again, depends on the layout. If the bathroom is large, we advise you to arrange the waterproof spots symmetrically along the perimeter of the ceiling. To illuminate the face in the bathroom, you do not need to use ceiling lights. It is much better and more effective to hang a sconce over a dressing table. The most beautiful options for placing dot items in the bathroom are provided in the photo gallery:
