This is the basis of the whole machine. However, one must understand that from whatever mechanism the engine is not used, its power in 1 - 1.5 kW will be sufficient for domestic use.

- the support( platform) for the engine is selected. It must be securely fixed, since when it is turned on, the rotor develops sufficiently large revolutions. It is recommended to make fastenings with bolts with a diameter of at least 8 mm. The location of the engine must take into account the convenience of using the machine and replacing the grinding wheel;
- connection is best done through a magnetic starter. It is understood that the power supply is single-phase 220 V.It is necessary to calculate the conformity of the engine power and the diameter of the wire suitable for the outlet. It is better to make the power supply directly from the circuit breaker on a separate line.
- The main problem is how to fix the emery circle on the motor shaft. Circles are different, and the diameters of its hole and motor shaft may not coincide. In this case, you have to pick up the bushing, and already plant a stone on it. You need to cut the thread on the shaft. No matter how the circle is attached to the rotor, with or without a bushing, it must be fixed;
- installation above the protective guard stone. It is made of thin sheet iron or thick plexiglas on a special holder.
How to assemble the grinding machine
Washer - washer - grinding stone - washer( if a sleeve is placed, one of its edges plays the role of the second washer) - the nut( tightening) - one more nut( fixing).
Special mention should be made of the connection of the starter - they come in different designs. We need to have at least three normally open contacts( HP).Its winding is connected to the phase line through two consecutively connected buttons. One - with normally closed contacts( NC), the other - with HP.The button with the HP contacts will be on."On", respectively, the second - "Off".Book."On" is placed in parallel with one pair of HP contacts of the starter.
Pressing the kn."On" voltage is applied to the winding, and the starter contacts are closed. One pair of them shunts the book."On", and when it is released, the voltage from the starter is not removed. By pressing the book."Off", we break the supply circuit of the winding, the starter "releases" the contacts, and the motor stops. As you can see, there is nothing difficult in making this useful device for the household.
