Sphere of application of polyethylene pipes

The scope of these pipes is very diverse. They are used in water supply systems, snow melting, heating. In addition, the network of pipelines can be both internal and external in many apartments, offices, public premises and homes. In particular, they are popular in systems "warm floor", where you can not lay a metal analog. Polyethylene pipes are conveniently mounted, flexible enough and reliable.

The only place where they can not be used is in places where there is any contact with the products of processing: solvents, oils, fats( and also for transportation of petroleum products). If we talk about the regions in which these pipes are most popular, it is mostly the CIS countries( Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan and others), Europe and Asia. Among the main brands that have proven themselves in the market, we can distinguish Wirsbo, TESE, Aquaterm Polska, Rehau, Viega, Polymutan, DAK-K, KAN and others.

Properties of polyethylene pipes

Polyethylene pipes and cross-linked polyethylene pipes differ significantly in their performance properties. The fact is that in the process of cross-linking this material ceases to be thermoplastic. It acquires a good elasticity and does not melt. That is why these pipes are usually referred to the JINR group J734.Plus, in the production process introduced a procedure such as reinforcement. Therefore, the already high strength characteristics of these pipes only increased.

As a rule, for reinforcement use synthetic threads or aluminum thin-walled shell. After that, the element acquires a multilayer structure. Among other performance characteristics are: constant in the preservation of forms at t +200 degrees, excellent shrinkage, resistance to any aggressive chemical substances, and also to the appearance of corrosion. They have high strength even at a temperature of +110 degrees, and cracks in this material simply do not appear.

Installation of XLPE pipes

Before connecting XLPE pipes, it is important to inspect each part of the pipeline, including fittings and valves. It is necessary to check up their working capacity. If there are any malfunctions, repair it. In particular, pay attention to any metal parts( steel fittings including). The thread is usually checked. To do this, a connecting part is screwed onto it. Then all surfaces that, in one way or another, will come into contact with the welding apparatus, it is necessary to degrease.

After that, the appropriate temperature( 260 degrees) is set on the welding apparatus( soldering iron).Further, the marking of the pipes is made and it is determined where the cutting with the help of scissors will be carried out.

Also there it is necessary to make designations for the location of the fittings( their rotations relative to the axis).Welded elements are heated. In this case, the apparatus should have a special nozzle. After the parts are heated, they are smoothly connected to each other and held for about 30 seconds. Pipes made of molecularly cross-linked polyethylene can be put into operation approximately 1-2 hours after installation.

Note! Do not be too lazy and clearly measure all distances between attachments. If this is not done, then in the future the pipeline can simply sag, therefore its service life will be shortened.
