Anchor for a brick wall

For a brick wall, the most successful type of anchor is considered to be a wedge, it is also called an anchor rod. This choice is due to the fact that for heavy structures with a high level of density, the most important fasteners are selected. Its construction consists of a stud, thread on one end and a fixing element of a cone-shaped shape and a nut on the other.

Installation is very simple:

  1. Drill a hole with a perforator so that it coincides with the thread and the fastener on the anchor.
  2. Clean the wall from dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or a construction hair dryer.
  3. Place the anchor in the wall and gently hammer it with a hammer.
  4. Screw the nut onto the bolt. Note that it must first be fully tightened, after letting go.
  5. Attach the pin to the fastener and retighten the nut.

The wedge anchor can be of several sizes: from 3 to 30 cm in length and from 6 mm to 2 cm in diameter.

Anchors are divided into several types:

  1. Electro-zinced
  2. Hot-dip galvanized
  3. Stainless
  4. Acid-resistant

These anchors are best suited for fastening large heavy structures, however at their choice all the same it is necessary to calculate necessary loading and a thickness of a surface.

Chemical anchor for brick

For working with a brick wall, you can also use a chemical anchor; This solution is especially suitable for hollow materials.

The anchor itself is made of galvanized steel and has a supporting part that opens inside the brick. Also, the fastener has a locking bolt that does not allow the whole device to fall through the wall. The length and diameter of the anchor are selected depending on the thickness of the wall and the presence of voids inside.

The chemical glue anchor has an ampoule with glue inside which, when screwed in, escapes and solidifies inside the wall. Allows you to make the most reliable fasteners, even for large structures.
