Selection of wood

a_0334

Kitchens from onToday the trees are very much appreciated. So, about 40 types of wood are known. All of them can be divided into two groups:

  1. Hardwood. It includes such species as maple, dogwood, mountain ash, beech, walnut, apple, ash. The hardest are acacia, oak, yew, boxwood and pistachio. They are usually used to create load-bearing structures that are subject to severe stress. For example, for the manufacture of a durable frame of furniture.
  2. Softwood. Examples are cherry, willow, spruce, pine, poplar, juniper, aspen, alder, cedar, fir and chestnut. Such rocks are used for the manufacture of various decorative elements, facades and other pieces of furniture that are not subject to high loads.

What pieces of furniture can be made from different types of wood:

  1. Let's start with pine. It, as already mentioned, refers to soft rocks. Usually, small cabinets, facades, shelves or various decorative details are made from its array. From the pine also sometimes erected a frame for upholstered furniture.
  2. Beech also refers to soft rocks, but it is almost as strong as the oak in strength. To its disadvantages should be considered the fact that it is able to absorb moisture from the air. Therefore, before use beech from beech must be carefully treated with special protective compounds. The furniture made of it should not be placed in places with high humidity.
  3. Very beautiful furniture is erected from the birch. It is made of chairs, dining tables, carved coffee tables. Products made from birch should not be used in places where humidity varies greatly. From this material quickly deteriorates.
  4. Oak is also often manufactured furniture. From its mass, large and bulky products are erected. So, for example, often there are made of oak beds, bookcases and chests of drawers.

Creating a template

Kitchen furniture can be made with help of improvised tools, special tools and materials. To avoid errors when cutting panels, you can buy or create a template yourself, necessary for marking and drilling holes. For this, two school rulers of 20 centimeters length and protractor will be needed.

Work order:

  1. Rulers are glued in the form of the letter T. The angle between them must be straight.
  2. Then, on the counter from the beginning of the intersection, make several marks and drill the holes. They must be made at a distance of 8( for the end hole for the Confirmate and Euroshrew), 16( for the thickness of the part), 32( for the thickness of the two parts), 60, 70, 90 and 110 millimeters. The latter are needed in order to mark the sheds and for the deviation from the edge of the detail.
  3. The holes are made 2 mm in diameter. This is quite enough for them to enter a sharpened pencil.

Despite the insignificant cost of such a simple template, it will perform no worse than its professional function.

Tools for working

Kitchen for a tree with their own hands is easy to make. For this, you will definitely need:

  1. Screwdriver.
  2. Drill.
  3. End milling cutter.
  4. Hammer.
  5. Pencil.
  6. Silo.
  7. Previously produced template for markup.
  8. Furniture hinges.

Drawing boxes

3

Modern cabinets are necessarily equipped with roller tracks for boxes. Therefore, it is important to learn how to install them. And for this, first of all, it is necessary to accurately conduct all necessary calculations. Without this, it will not be possible to properly place the boxes in the closet, and as a result, even with a beautiful and sturdy frame, the furniture will be defective.

Typically, in the kitchen sets of wood, several sectional compartments are installed, which should be the same, so that any box can stand in place of another. Considering this, it is necessary to remember the extreme position of the lower and upper drawer( sherry). The facade of the upper one should overlap the binder with the base, and the lower facade usually closes the bottom.

When calculating, it should be taken into account that between the center line and the bottom of the guide there should be 18 millimeters. Knowing the total thickness of the bottom and the plinth, you can calculate a constant value( the distance from the edge of the facade to the bottom drawer). This is done by subtracting from the dimensions of the segment from the bottom end of the front side to the axis of the guide thickness of the used plate.

For example:

  • The size of the slab of the facade is 16 millimeters.
  • Thickness of the screw head - 2 mm( add 2 mm for it to fit tightly into the hole, it turns out 4 millimeters).
  • The value of the interval between the center line and the bottom of the guide is 18 millimeters.
  • Height of fixing rail: 18 + 4 = 22 millimeters.
  • The size of the segment from the bottom of the front to the axis of the guide: 22 + 16 = 38 millimeters.
  • Distance from the edge of the facade to the bottom drawer: 38-16 = 22 millimeters.

Then you need to calculate the height of the sides of the box. Please note that any of them should not rest on the linking bar.

If the calculation of the height of the facade was about 163 millimeters, then for the normal operation of the sliding mechanism, the dimensions of the sides of 50-60 millimeters will suffice.

The distance between the table drawer body and the connecting bridge is equal to the diameter of the roller on the guide. To avoid swelling of the chipboard, it is recommended to add another half of the size. So, with a roll diameter of 18 millimeters, the gap should be 18 + 9 = 27 millimeters.

To determine the height of the compartment for each box, you need to add the length of the facade and the clearance value. After this, calculate the distance from the top edge of the facade to the top of the drawer. To do this, add the size of the jumper and the gap provided for it.

It's time to calculate the height of the edge for the boxes. To do this, from the size of the facade you need to subtract the sum of the value of the lower and upper overlap. When calculating, take into account the thickness of the fiberboard for the bottom of the drawer.

Assembly of hinges

  1. The distance can be from 65 to 130 millimeters from the end of the door to the center of the seat. The number of loops depends on the size and weight of the door, but usually does not exceed five. From the angular part to the center of the landing nest, the distance is approximately 22 millimeters.
  2. With the help of an awl it is necessary to nip the hole in the center of the socket for a more convenient work of the cutter. Depending on the type of loops, the depth of the groove can be from 12 to 13 millimeters. Only when drilling is necessary to take into account the thickness of the panel, so as not to squeeze out the front part of the door. To make it easier to work with drilling, it is best to use an sharpened milling cutter.
  3. It is important that when drilling, the angle of the drill with respect to the panel is straight. The door for easy fixing is best placed on the floor. In this case, the loop should be freely bent behind the edges of the door.
  4. Before fastening the loop to its place, it is necessary to heave holes through the ears of the hinge with screws for self-tapping screws. This will help to prevent the screw from moving to the side.
  5. Finally, tighten the screws. The installation of the loops is complete.

Manufacturing of table tops for kitchen set

You can make a kitchen countertop with your hands that will last for many years. Before proceeding with its manufacture, it is necessary to determine the type of coverage. Here we will consider the countertops with two types of coverage - "marble" and with tiles facing.

Kitchen materials

Need:

  1. Material for the frame. It is recommended to take a beam with a profile of 40 by 50 or 50 by 50 millimeters. In this case, the wood should be flat, without visible defects. The higher the quality of the material, the easier it will be to make the skin.
  2. For facing the surface of the kitchen countertop under the wood, you will need tiles, glue for it and a grouting compound.
  3. To make the base under the countertop, you need:
  • cement, crushed stone and sand;
  • strong metal bars( for reinforcing the structure);
  • plasticizers and pigments( required for concrete);
  • solid bars( for formwork);
  • aluminum or plastic profile( for finishing the edges of the structure);
  • liquid nails.

Tools for operation

You will need:

  1. Drill of low power or screwdriver.
  2. Bulgarian with a suitable cutting disc.
  3. Trowel.
  4. Electric jigsaw.
  5. Grater for laying tiles.
  6. Concrete spatula.
  7. The machine for cutting tiles.
  8. Construction level.
  9. Roulette.

Frame and formwork

countertop-from-granite

After purchasing all the necessary materials, you can begin to assemble the frame for the countertop. Since the weight of the structure on the basis of the concrete slab is quite large, a special frame will be required for its installation. It is assembled as follows:

  1. First determine the height of the countertop.
  2. Then you need to make vertical racks of the frame from the pieces of the bars.
  3. Finished supports are fixed to the floor with metal corners. If any of them are adjacent to the walls, then they are fastened by means of anchor bolts to the pre-drilled holes.
  4. After installing the rack, each other should be connected using horizontal jumpers. As a result, an almost ready frame of the frame will be obtained, which will be strengthened with diagonal braces.
  5. Then is made of the boards formwork and countertop. The formwork should be assembled so that it can be removed without damaging the concrete itself.
  6. Inside the formwork, at the location of the sink, you should place a ring of metal strip. If you need to install a hob, you must put wooden or metal edges along the perimeter of the formwork.
  7. When the formwork is completed, it should be covered with polyethylene film. This is necessary to protect the floor from leaks of the solution, because it will turn out to be quite liquid.

Installing the

After completion of the work on the formwork, it is necessary to lay together reinforcing bars. Then you can start to dilute the solution.

It is prepared as follows:

  1. Take one part of the cement and two pieces of sand and gravel.
  2. All parts are mixed.
  3. To improve the quality of the solution, it is recommended to add a plasticizer.
  4. The solution is diluted with water and mixed until a paste-like consistency is formed.
  5. If the countertop is made of imitation of granite or marble, then a special pigment is added to the solution, which can be bought today in any building material store.

When the solution is ready, it is poured into the formwork to the required level. After that, the surface is leveled and covered with a film. The mixture should dry. This will take at least one week.

During this time, ensure that the solution does not dry out. To do this, periodically check the surface and, if necessary, moisten it with an atomizer.

After complete hardening of the solution, the formwork is removed, and work begins on finishing the countertop.

Finishing cladding

  1. With a trowel, the tile adhesive is applied to the surface and evenly distributed. To improve the adhesion of tiles in solution, it is recommended to make grooves.
  2. Then pre-prepared tiles should be laid on the adhesive layer and pressed. At the same time, it must be carefully leveled.
  3. You also need to trim all the seams between the tiles in width. For this use plastic crosses.
  4. You will need to wait for the adhesive to dry completely and wipe the seams.
  5. Still at this stage, you should place the profile on the ends of the table top. It is fixed with liquid nails or glue. To secure the fastening, the profile should be fixed with clamps.

Making a dining table

Kitchen worktop

  1. To make a table top for a kitchen table, you need four edging boards measuring 50 by 150 by 1000 mm. You can use oak or pine. If the width and thickness of the bars are the same, it will be left to cut them to length. Only it is necessary to do it very carefully. Any cut must be made exactly at a right angle.
  2. To make the boards denser to each other, before joining them in the same plane, processing of the side faces with a jointer is required. As a result, the table top should look beautiful and even. For careful alignment of the edge when joining, you should make the same pressure on the power tool used.
  3. Elements are joined together by means of self-tapping screws or nails. You can also use dowels and glue. The latter option will make furniture more rigid. The lateral ends of the boards should be marked at a distance of 100-150 millimeters, but only in such a way that they coincide with the adjacent bars.
  4. It is recommended to draw one line at each side edge of the center. Then holes are made. This requires a drill 8 mm thick. In the finished holes should be hammered dowels, greased with glue. They also need to grease the boards. After that, they need to be knocked together so that they fit snugly together.
  5. Then wait until the joints have dried. After that, the excess dried glue that came out is cleaned with sandpaper.
  6. Folded boards should be properly sanded to remove any unevenness at the joints. Another nazhdachkoy or rasp should be processed edges of the structure.

Table legs

  1. Table legs may be cut from the board in any form. The first of them will be a sample, by which the rest are cut with a jig saw. With the help of the router, the patterns are applied to the legs.
  2. Each leg should be carefully sanded. After which they can be collected. To do this, cut the jumpers with oblique angles so that the legs are located diagonally.
  3. After that they are polished again. The legs can be put in place for one glue without the use of furniture dowels, but the resulting rectangle will need to be fixed with clamps. For complete drying of the adhesive, the assembled structure must be kept for at least one day.
  4. After all has dried, you need to attach the table top. In the drawing and on the lintels of the legs, it is necessary to make a marking, to drill the nests and to hammer the dowels. Then glue the joints with glue and, finally, connect the table top with the structure from the legs. Now the fixed parts should be greased with glue.

The table can be considered ready for painting. Such products are usually first treated with stain, and then covered with a colorless varnish. This will highlight the natural texture of wood. After drying the first layer, it is best to apply one more. As a result, you will get a quality table for a kitchen made of wood. A photo of the approximate result is shown below.
