Paint for tiles and features of its use

Can I paint ceramic tiles if you want to create your own decor of the premise on finished lining? Why not, just do not consider gouache as a way to get an image on the tile. Here special dyes are needed, which will stick to a smooth surface, if not tens of years, then a year or so 3-4 at least. Suitable acrylic, alkyd or oil paint for ceramic tiles, you will also need soft brushes, a small foam rubber roller or a "brush" made of the same material( the usual kitchen sponge will do).

Applying an image to a tile is most convenient through a stencil. Firstly, you can do many typical tiles, and secondly, you will not have flaws in the drawing. Using a large stencil, able to cover several tiles at once, you can create a real panel. If only latex paints are available, you will have to remove the smooth covering of the tile before you start to work, it is best to do this with the grinder. On a smooth surface, latex paint does not last long and is quickly erased.

How to paint the tile in the bathroom - the beginning of the creative process

To begin with, you should prepare the surface on which you are going to apply the decor. We clean it of any hint of pollution, so that there is not a speck of dust, for this, either rub the tile with alcohol, or wash it with any kitchen remedy and then carefully dry it. Next, take an aerosol glue and apply it to one side of the stencil sheet. Very carefully apply the sheet on the tile or several tiles, depending on the size of the stencil( remember, we talked about the panel?).The front of the work is ready, now we get the paints and brushes.

Since the stencil adheres to the tile tightly, you can not be afraid that the paint will fall under the edge of the slots, but the movements should be very sparse and accurate. Tools for work use depending on the nature of the image. The brush leaves longitudinal strokes, and the strokes of the individual hairs are visible. Foam, whether it be a roller or just a piece of material that has been cut off in the form of a brush, leaves almost uniform traces with a slight hint of velvety. Thus, you can always decide where to apply.

How to paint ceramic tiles - multi-color decor

Let's say you want to draw bright flowers on juicy stems, and you have the appropriate stencil. First, draw the green, that is, the stem and leaves. You can use a green color or emerald, turquoise or pistachio, no matter, the main thing to watch is that there is not a lot of paint on the brush, and the strokes are uniform. It is most convenient to use acrylic, it dries quickly, they can even be painted floor tiles.

When finished with the grassy part of the plant, you can make the edge of the leaves darker, by painting a more saturated color on the edge of each desired cutout of the stencil.

If you use a color that differs from the previous one by 1-2 shades in drawing, you do not have to worry if you suddenly lightly touch the details that were made earlier. Now go to the next. Let's say you want to make the surface velvety, for this we use foam rubber. Dip it in the paint, but only lightly, so as not to have absorbed much. Otherwise, if you press a porous material on the tile, too much ink will be squeezed out, and there is a risk that it will flow under the edges of the stencil.

Lightly touching the sponge, we get a uniform color. When we approach the areas covered with other tones, before we paint the ceramic tile further, we cover the finished areas with a plain napkin, the acrylic is already dried and does not smudge. When you're finished, carefully separate the stencil, most of the paint will remain on it, and the tile will have a clear image.
