Procedure for erecting the

1. Calculation of a wooden arch, its dimensions and configuration is done based on the width of the corridor. If it is large enough - about 2 meters, then it is advisable to make a vault in the form of a part of a circle, but if the width is smaller, it is better to install an ellipsoidal arch.
2. Create a template. The first step in making wooden arches is to make a template arch arch. As we have already said, it can be in the form of a part of a ring or an ellipse, depending on the width of the corridor. The template is made from a sheet of plywood with a thickness of at least 20 mm. First, we draw on the surface of the plywood sheet two circles of the required diameter. The outer diameter of the resulting ring should be equal to the inner radius of the arch arch. Inside the ring, a hole is drilled, from which we begin to saw out with a jig saw the necessary ring.
3. Then cut it in half and finally get two semirings. The ends of the semirings need to be ground. Do this on a milling table using a cutter. From a piece of the same plywood we cut the stiffeners, the length of which is equal to the width of the half rings, and the width - to the dimensions of the arch vault. We fix the stiffeners between the half rings, and fix them with self-tapping screws.
4. The face of the mold is reinforced with thin sheet metal, plywood or fiberboard. It is better to take a piece of galvanizing, it is quite easily bent and will give the construction the necessary rigidity. It is also fixed with screws. It is worth noting that thanks to this template you can make more than one arch.
5. Then we begin to compile the vault. It is better for him to choose veneered plywood no more than 2.5 mm thick. It looks attractive and is not difficult to process. We take a segment of a little more width than the shape of the shape and secure it with clamps on it. Alternately, we grind both ends of the plywood.
6. Next we begin to cut out the archivolts. To do this, we collect them from small pieces of wood in the form of a polygon. Then from the polygon a semicircle is made, which is glued to the workpiece of the arch. The same is done with another archivolt. The entire structure is connected with clamps until the glue dries, and then polished once more.
7. The inner joint of archivolt and arched arch of interior wood is milled.
8. The next step is the manufacture of pilasters. They are made U-shaped from several prefabricated parts, in order to separate them with decorative elements. The glued post is cut in half, milled and slotted. Then the arch is assembled completely and covered with several layers of varnish.

As we see, for the manufacture of such a design with their own hands, too much specific tools are needed, which for one arch is not entirely appropriate.

The next method of making a wooden arch into an apartment with your own hands is a little more complicated, however, it does not require a lot of tools. The essence of it is to recruit a set of several elements. For this, a pattern is drawn on a piece of plywood. Then, from the calibrated boards on the thicknesser, several small bars are sawed along the arc, which are then glued together into one structure and fixed with screws. Self-tapping screws must be drowned. Bars are marked by a pattern. Particular attention should be paid to the lower arc of the bar. Lay the bars with overlapping( like brickwork).After that, all irregularities are ground. Then the pilasters are made. For this arch, you can use simple racks of a wooden door frame. Thus, the design can be used as a wooden arch for doorways. The last step will be the manufacture of platbands and varnishing of the surface.

As we can see, the construction of a wooden arch with their own hands is not an easy task, and for the embodiment conceived in reality, it is necessary to have at least a simple carpenter's tool and the initial skills of working with wood.

How to make a wooden arch for a garden with your own hands

Fashion for decoration with wooden arches of the infield came to us relatively recently, however, in a short period of time won the hearts of the owners of country houses and suburban areas. As a rule, the arches in our houses were used only as a support for climbing plants, mainly for grapes. They made them out of metal, and they did not carry any architectural value. Over time, wooden arches began to be used as an element of landscape design, decorating them with paths on the site. Next, we will look at several variants of wooden arches that can be made with our own hands:

• A simple arch made from improvised materials. To make such a design, we will use the waste from the sawing of trees. For racks of such an arch we take four thick branches. We saw them one by one. Further dig small pits in the ground, insert in them racks, level them on the level and fill it with concrete. Part of the rack, which will be in the ground, is smeared with mastic or wrapped with a ruberoid. After the concrete has solidified, we tie the pillars of the arch with cross-bars. To do this, cut out 6 small lengths of branches and nail them across the racks. The next step is to connect the opposing racks with crossbeams. Next, install the roof arch. To do this, place the rafters and connect them in the middle at an angle. The same is done with the other pair of racks. We connect the rafters with each other. Then we strengthen all elements of the construction with braces. Such a simple and cheap arch perfectly fits into the design of your site.

• Construction of beams and boards. Also not particularly difficult option. From a bar of 150x150 mm we make 4 posts, the upper ends of which are sawed at an angle of 45⁰.Supports are installed in the ground( do not forget to process them before installing the mastic), level off and fill with concrete. Then, rafters are made for the roof of the arch. To do this, take the same bar, the end of which at the point of connection with the opposite is filed at an angle of 45⁰.The next pair of posts is connected by a vault in the same way. As a result, we have two pairs of supports connected together by arches. Now they are connected with each other by braces. As the braces use slats with a width of 50 mm and a thickness of 20 mm. They will not be installed at a right angle, but at an angle of 45 °.For this purpose, the ends are sewn so that they coincide with the end of the rack. The bracing is installed on both sides of the racks, and in different directions. This is how the whole structure is lined up. As a result, we get a rather interesting arch. The final chord will be painting the structure in white.

• Construction of boards and metal. In such an arch, the square pipe will be used as the pillars. Cut off the pipe we handle with anticorrosion, install it in the ground, level the level and fill it with concrete. Then weld to the pillars of the arch. For their manufacture, we take a square tube of a smaller size and bend it on the rollers. If this is not possible, you can contact any metalwork shop. The resulting construction is painted black. Racks and arches are connected with each other by wooden braces at right angles. Before installation, the braces are varnished. Through the holes and vaults through holes are drilled, and the wooden bars are mounted on the bolts.
