The feature of these materials is that they are practical, easy to operate, durable and that are important absolutely clean in the ecological plan. Among the above materials, especially want to highlight the polyurethane. This material is truly unique - it easily bends, which makes it possible to make even radius corners, extremely fireproof, is not afraid of moisture and does not absorb any smells. The only drawback, if you can call it a disadvantage - a higher price compared with polystyrene and polystyrene skirting boards.

How to choose a skirting board

Before starting work, you need to choose the skirting board. Ceiling plinths are of the following types:

  • Convex or concave;
  • Different width, different texture and pattern;
  • The length of the skirting boards varies from 1.3 to 2 meters. Of course, the choice of skirting depends entirely on the preferences of the owners of the apartment, but there are general rules for their choice, which we will tell you about. For apartments with high ceilings designers are advised to choose wide and massive ceiling skirting boards, and for rooms with low ceilings, on the contrary narrow and thin. This is dictated by the fact that the wide skirting boards visually somewhat "let the ceiling", and the narrow and thin on the contrary will make the ceiling higher. In addition to the height of the ceilings, it is necessary to consider what kind of wallpaper will be on the walls. So if you prefer monophonic wallpaper, then skirting boards decorated with drawings will look more beautiful, and if you prefer wallpaper with drawings, it is better to choose a smooth plinth.

    For work, store the following tools and materials:

    • Joiner wort( allows cutting saws at the right angle);
    • Jig saw, hacksaw or just a sharp knife:
    • Construction tape measure and pencil;
    • Adhesive base( liquid nails, special adhesives, sealants, etc.);
    • Well, and, of course, directly the ceiling skirting itself.

    We proceed to the sticker of the plinth. Begin to glue the skirting from the side of the long wall, gently pressing one side of the bar to the wall, and the other to the ceiling. If you do not have enough flat walls, do not try to press the bar exactly to the wall, otherwise the plinth will repeat the curvature of the wall, and this will immediately be noticeable. Instead, it is better to leave a blank under the bar, then they can be masked with putty or sealant.

    After mounting the skirting board, carefully pinch the joints and corners. It is not superfluous to treat the skirting surface with a primer, this will help if the plinth is supposed to be painted. It is better to paint the plinth with water-based paint.
