Incorrect installation, violation of the rules for the operation of the heating system and some other factors invariably give rise to a number of problems:
- a reduction in the radial size of the pipe due to the formed inside the raid;
- leakage of liquid;
- installation of smaller diameter pipes.
The first thing to do when a buzz occurs is to start searching for a leak. If you and your neighbors have everything in order, you probably need to look in the basement of the house, where all communications are concentrated. Leakage may occur due to a loosely closed valve or the formation of a fistula with mechanical damage to the pipe.

Most often, a knocking occurs due to a sudden change in the temperature of the water. As a result, the metal pipe is deformed, i.e.when the water is heated, it expands, and when it cools, it narrows. This leads to the fact that due to poor mounting on the wall the structure will tap on the bracket. But it is enough to put a rubber gasket between it and the radiator and there will not be any blows.
But if the fastener is tightly attached to the wall, then the sound will be of a completely different kind - creaking.
Condensate on pipes with cold water.
In addition to the fact that metal pipes are the source of all sorts of disturbing stimuli in the living room, they have the property of "sweating."
The flow of cold water pipes is due to the difference in temperature between the outside and inside. As a result, high humidity causes rapid rusting of metal pipes. In consequence, breakaway rust particles, getting into the water, begin to circulate along the system along with it, which again can lead to undesirable sounds. 
As we have found out, both sounds, and sources of their occurrence the diversified. In general, these are obsolete engineering structures with a high degree of wear. In part, this can be corrected by carrying out major repairs with the replacement of all systems. The same part, which is on the balance of public utilities, unfortunately, reduces the effectiveness of such works.
