Creating a plastic ceiling

The basic process of creating a ceiling from plastic panels begins with fastening of rigid profiles. The metal structure should be horizontal and strong. To avoid getting into an unpleasant situation, you need to use a building level that will not allow you to fix the profiles at the wrong angle. Fastening of all elements of the frame is made on the basis of transverse profiles using self-tapping screws.

Further along the perimeter of the ceiling is mounted one more profile, which will correspond to the overall thickness of the metal structure.

Using a hacksaw, it is necessary to cut the panels in such a way that they correspond to the ceiling area. Obviously, in some cases, the product may be too long or too wide. This should not prevent us from creating a quality plastic ceiling. Fastening of panels to metal profiles will occur through the use of liquid nails. And here you need to make sure that the surface of the plastic ceiling is perfectly horizontal. To apply too much glue on the surface of the material is not worth it, since normally liquid nails perfectly retain the building material even if it has a high weight.

Special attention should be paid to the last panel, which will be installed at the very edge of the ceiling. Obviously, to place it for sure you need to cut it a little bit in width. Accordingly, this panel also needs to be densely placed.

Ceiling baseboards that are used in this process are the most common building elements that are glued to the wall and ceiling after wallpaper adhesives. In this case, the skirting boards will be easier to mount, since the metal frame allows you to create a flat surface. Again, the ceiling skirting boards are fixed using liquid nails. Using a rag you should get rid of the remaining glue, which can ruin the appearance of the plastic panels.

Throughout the process, you need to use the building level to check the surface horizontality. If the metal structure is fixed not very qualitatively, in due course it can simply fail.
