It is clear that you are least interested in the reasons for their education - whether the repair was done by neighbors or at the entrance, or your new building gave a drawdown. On the first place is the question - how to fix a crack on the ceiling?

Of course, you can start ringing friends and acquaintances with requests to help find a specialist who will come and fix everything right away. Or risk and do everything yourself?
First of all, it is necessary to determine whether a crack in the ceiling or a layer of water-emulsion paint has peeled off. In this there is nothing complicated, it is enough to clear the site of detachment. If only the painted surface is damaged, then after cleaning, the entire surface of the drywall will be visible. If the cause is not only cracked paint, then, to your chagrin, you will see a crack formed after a faulty sealing of the seams.
What is needed to fill the crack yourself:
- small and wide spatulas;
- sandpaper or mesh;
- primer for ceiling;
- putty;
- self-adhesive tape - serpent;
- water-based paint.
Crack removal technology
First of all, it is necessary to clear the crack location. For clearing, use a prepared spatula. Completely clean the damaged surface from paint, cracked putty;if the crack goes under the used sickle for mounting the ceiling, then delete it. The next step is to clean the loosened surface with sandpaper or a mesh. Do not forget that when cleaning, a layer of dust is formed, which must be removed with a brush, otherwise settled dust will affect the quality of the work performed.
When using plasterboard for finishing the ceiling, the edge of the sheet at the joint of two sheets is cut at an angle of 45 degrees. If, after clearing a crack, you did not find a chamfer - a section of a sheet for a better and better quality filler, then, armed with a conventional knife, you will have to do it yourself. The work is simple, but painstaking enough, because it is necessary that both edges of the sheets have such a cutoff angle. To make it possible to do it quickly and without much effort, make sure that you are comfortable standing and that you do not have to constantly reach the ceiling, doing all the repair work.
After finishing with clearing and getting rid of the dust that appeared on the ceiling around our cracks, it is necessary to apply a primer, it is possible to apply two layers, but it is mandatory with complete drying of the first layer. Even if you decide to limit yourself to a single coat application of the primer, wait until this layer dries, otherwise there is a chance that the putty will not last long.
What to do with partially deformed plasterboard? With this surface, you will have to spend a little more time. The damaged area will have to be cut or sawed. In its place is put cut on the model of the old new piece( do not forget to make chamfers) and screwed with screws to the fasteners.
Spatting may seem like a very complex process, but it's not. On a small spatula, take a little putty and calm, even, but with the pressure of movement apply to the cleft crack. Pressing during application is necessary to penetrate the filler over the entire depth of the crack or the joint of the drywall sheets.
After cracking the crack, we use the previously acquired sickle. Once the putty has dried, a two-layer primer is produced. After the final drying of the primer, you will need a wide spatula to apply a layer that aligns with the ceiling surface.
If the surface has leveled out the first time and there are no visible flaws, in the form of pits or hills of excess putty, then you can apply the primer again - this will be the final layer before painting. It is worth noting that without a certain skill to get the perfect result at once, it can be difficult. Therefore, if something does not suit you, you can apply another thin layer of putty, which will completely hide all the irregularities of the patch.
Admiring your work, you have to completely dry all the layers applied. After that, you can paint over the repaired surface. You can apply a special primer before painting, if not, then you can paint immediately with water-based paint. Use of the roller will allow the paint to be distributed evenly. Perhaps, you will have to go through the roller with paint several times, so that the repaired plot does not stand out against the background of the rest of the ceiling.
