Preparing for finishing
Initially, the surfaces are evaluated - visible irregularities, nails, screws, seams between sheets of gypsum board and corners are trimmed with reinforcing mesh. The previous layer of plaster is removed with a spatula, after which, according to the manufacturer's recommendation, it is necessary to prepare a primer. If you want to level the surface of the wall of bricks, set the grid and mark with special pockets, which are intended to indicate the alignment of the surface.
Putty is prepared according to the instructions with the help of a construction mixer, making sure that the mass is perfectly homogeneous. If the material is too thick, you can dilute it with water, thoroughly mixing. It is recommended to achieve a consistency of a mix of plaster as a dense sour cream.
How to apply the filler
To get started, you need to have a spatula with a width of 10 cm and a two-hand trowel. With a spatula, the mixture from the container is applied to a trowel, with which the mass is evenly applied to the wall. The tool is kept in a horizontal position, and the putty is applied vertically.
After the material is applied approximately 2 sq.m.surface, with the help of the building rule in the form of a trapezoid, the remnants of the putty are removed - the tool is carried along the normal to the layer of the mixture and look at the remnants of the mixture. The surface is considered even after the putty remains along the entire length of the rule to achieve this, the mixture is applied to the wall in several layers.
The next layer is the finish putty, which is used as a basis for painting or pasting walls with wallpaper. Putting putty on the walls
In order to coat the walls at home you need to prepare a mixture - the powder is diluted with water according to the instructions, stir with a spatula or a mixer. The mass should be enough for about half an hour of work, since it has the property of rapidly solidifying, after which it can no longer be used.
Before beginning the leveling of the walls, small cracks and holes are eliminated - the edges are peeled off with a knife, cleaned of dust. On the surface of the cavity soil is applied, after it dries it is filled with putty and leveled with a spatula.
After the unevenness is eliminated, it is necessary to dry the putty, after which the walls are completely covered with a primer. With a small spatula on a wide mix, then spread the wall, moving the tool to the sides and starting from the bottom.
The first layer of putty is called the starting layer, its thickness reaches about 15 mm. The next layer is the finish mix, which hides small irregularities, smoothness of the walls is achieved, which after drying and priming allows you to boldly paint or glue the surface with wallpaper.
