The special device - plaster shovel hopper bucket, which automatically sprays the solution onto the surface to be treated - will speed up and facilitate the solution of the problem of plastering walls and ceiling. The device is great for processing large areas. You can make it yourself from improvised materials. It will be cheaper, but you can buy and in the building store: it costs about 7000 rubles.

Using a bucket

A bucket of factory production can be wall and ceiling. These models differ in type of construction, in particular, in the structure of the handle-holder. At wall hoppers it is bent at an angle of 45 degrees, and at the ceiling - 90 degrees.

Buckets are universal and, except for plaster, are adapted for work with such materials as:

• concrete mixes;
• cement-sand and cork mixtures;
• textured paints;
• Liquid wallpaper.

Hopper provides better adhesion of solutions, improves the quality of plastering due to the greater impact force of the mixture on the surface. Each bucket for plaster application is equipped with a compressor - it allows spraying the solution. At the bottom of the ladle are injectors, which are fed with air flow. Completely the bucket is released from the mixture in 3-5 seconds. Thanks to this for an hour one master is able to plaster 60 square meters of the surface with a layer of 1-2 centimeters.

Technology of plastering

Before starting work, beacons are exposed, walls or ceiling is wetted with water. If it is planned gunning, install a reinforced mesh. Since the process of plastering with a hopper occurs at a high speed, and in about 3-4 minutes of operation the device consumes about 50-60 kilograms of the finished mixture, it is necessary to make a large stock of the solution in advance. It is recommended to automate this process using a concrete mixer or mortar mixer. Compositions for application, plastering proportions.

To spray the mixture should be started immediately after its preparation. The range of roughing is chosen depending on the desired result, usually factory or homemade hopper plaster is kept at a distance of 4-5 centimeters from the surface being treated. When the process is completed, the plaster is leveled by the rule, and after drying it is rubbed.

The bucket should be rinsed after use

This is done simply: its upper part is dipped in a container of water, and then the compressor is turned on to blow the nozzles. Remains of the solution are removed from the working area of the instrument by hand, using rags for this. If a break is required during the application of the plaster, the same is done: the hopper is dipped into water and washed, but left in the container until the work resumes.

Self-made bucket bucket

Although the buckets for plastering are relatively inexpensive, and any model can be rented at a reasonable price, some masters prefer to make their own tools on their own. With your own hands, you usually have to collect only a bucket, the remaining details are purchased.

The pattern of a one-liter bucket is shown in the diagram, but the plastering shovels are different, and if you improve it at your own discretion, there will not be anything reprehensible. The details of the hopper are cut from a sheet of metal. The bucket shown in the diagram is made of aluminum and reinforced with two strips of duralumin. Its elements are connected by self-tapping screws. It is important that there are no gaps between the edges of the parts, otherwise the product will leak. To solve this problem it is possible with the help of metal corners and overlays. If the hopper is made of a more durable material, for example, with tali, then it makes sense to use not self-tapping but welding, and the problem with leaks disappears by itself.

Bucket shape
The bucket is recommended to be equipped with a comfortable and strong handle. The model presented in the drawing is equipped with it on the left so that the main weight load falls on the right hand. If the master is left-handed, then the handle is attached to the right side of the hopper.

Also the plaster bucket hopper is equipped with attachments for holding the spray gun and the hole where the device is inserted. It's worth noting that self-made models have less power than factory ones, which have two, three or four nozzles. Some craftsmen add nozzles, hoping to increase the productivity of their machines. However, with a single nozzle, a liter of the mixture is sprayed for 10-20 seconds, depending on the consistency of the material.

The bucket is put on the spray gun, the hose leading to the air compressor is attached to the latter. To use a homemade hopper is necessary as well as factory, unless the acceptable distance from the wall is more - 15-20 centimeters. It should be carefully monitored that when scooping the solution, it does not stick to the outside of the bucket.

If you use a plaster shovel hopper bucket with your own hands assembled, then you need to look after it the same way as for the factory model. The product is rinsed in a container of water, the remnants of the solution are wiped with rags.

In general, self-made hoppers are few inferior to factory ones, except for one limitation: they are suitable only for working with walls. It is inconvenient to plaster the ceiling with a hand-built bucket. If there is such a task, you will have to make a new hopper with a modified design, and sometimes - even buy another sprayer, with a more ergonomic handle.

In general, and the back-up of the plastering process on the wall will save you a lot of time and effort. The main difficulty will only be to align the solution applied to the surface to be treated. Find out how much plaster will need, the calculator will help.
