Required tools

Plaster leveling is carried out using the following tools:

  • aluminum rule,
  • trowel in stainless steel,
  • drill with a mixer nozzle,
  • plastic bucket for 18 liters,
  • plaster falcon,
  • spongy grout,
  • plaster ridge,
  • putty knives for 50, 100, 200 mm,
  • brush with handle.

Preparation of

ceilings Before plastering, it is necessary to properly prepare the ceilings for finishing.

First remove the old coating with an unnecessary spatula. To facilitate the procedure, the surface is moistened with a roller or brush. Approximately 200 mm down from the ceiling, the walls are also treated. Now in the market of building materials special washings have appeared, which literally in 20-30 minutes help to remove any old paint.

With a hammer or a spatula handle, it is necessary to "tap" the joints of the slabs( rusts), as well as around the heating risers and in the corners between the wall and the ceiling. Poorly maintained plaster should be removed.

Sometimes, when removing the old coating, fungus or mold is often found. In this case, first, you should determine the cause of the appearance of the fungus. Most likely, the matter is in poor heating and high humidity. If you do not revise the ventilation system of the building, the fungus can be formed again on a new coating. Secondly, it is important to eliminate the fungus. If it has small scales, then a solution of copper sulfate or a special agent will help( usually the homenoplast aerosol) available in stores. If a large area is affected by the fungus, the top layer of the "mycelium" is first cleaved, and then it is burned with a gas welding torch or acid. After the old coating, mold and fungus has been removed, they begin to prepare the surface.

Surface preparation and plastering of the ceiling

Ceiling plaster technology requires the preparation of the surface before commencing work. What does it mean? This means that the surface must be primed, leveled, cleaned and dried. Only after this is applied the ceiling plaster. About this and tell more.

If the ceiling is very curve, then you need to set the beacons. Plaster ceilings on beacons means the installation of special labels, which show exactly where the ceiling is tilted. Further on, these cords stretch the cords and set the beacons to which the beacon profiles are mounted.

Then the surface dries and the plaster solution is applied. If you need to create any patterns or a certain slightly rough surface, then a textured ceiling plaster will do. Venetian plaster on the ceiling and walls is also suitable for creating a unique and exquisite design.

It is also important to note that if plasterboard is made of plasterboard or wood, you need to determine the thickness of the applied layer. If the thickness is assumed to be more than 15 mm, it is desirable to use a special mesh. Thanks to it, the plastering of a wooden ceiling or a ceiling made of plasterboard will be more durable and reliable. The grid is a kind of fastener.

At the final stage, a plaster solution is applied under pressure by machine. This provides good adhesion. The mixture is evenly distributed on the basis of the location of the profile beacons. After the final drying, make a grout to obtain a perfectly smooth and even surface.

Well describes this video process. Plaster of the ceiling with their own hands, video with lessons on the application of which is presented on many resources, will help you to recreate the refined and aesthetically attractive interiors.
