Summer kitchen made of bricks with barbecuehands

The special aroma and appetizing appearance of the dishes prepared on the barbecue will be appreciated by both adults and children. For a summer residence it is possible to buy a factory design allowing to prepare food on a lattice, however the summer kitchen constructed with a brick with a barbecue oven can serve not only as the equipment for frying meat and fish, but also becomes the central figure of a holiday zone of rest.

We present to your attention the oven-barbecue E. Gudkov, which you can build with your own hands. It combines all the advantages of a grill and hob with a hob. Using a detailed instruction in which the drawings and the order are given, it will be quite easy to add such a kiln with one's own hand.

Construction of the foundation of the summer kitchen

The construction proposed for repetition has an impressive weight, so the arrangement of a serious reason for it is mandatory. To build a tile foundation, you need concrete, reinforced with a metal mesh.

Materials and tools

Our structure is not so responsible to use high-class and expensive construction mixtures, so there will be enough concrete of the M200 grade. For its preparation, the following ratio of building materials can be used:

  • 1 part-cement grade 400;
  • 4 hours - rubble or coarse gravel( fraction 30 mm);
  • 2 hours - a large river sand.

Ensure that the content of impurities in the sand does not exceed 10 parts of its volume, and in the rubble - in 2%.

Using the proposed proportion will require the following consumption of building materials per 1 cu.m of concrete:

  • Cement M400 - 325 kg;
  • Sand - 1.3 t
  • Crushed stone - 1.3 t
  • Water - 205 l.

To strengthen the foundation, a wire mesh of A3 fittings is required. When approaching the basement marking, add 20 cm to each side to the dimensions of the future furnace. When the size of the structure is 1.4 × 1 m, the foundation is measured with a size of 1.6 × 1.2 m.

When preparing the foundation, prepare:

  • narrow, round and square tampers;
  • scraper, smoothing pad, half-rub;
  • probe to remove air bubbles from the mixture;
  • shovels for soil and mortar;
  • trowel;
  • board for finishing the surface.

How to lay the concrete

In order to build a solid foundation, it is necessary to take into account the features of the soil on the site. Water-saturated, swelling, peaty and other specific soils will require additional reinforcement before settling the base for the furnace.

To to mark foundation, it is enough to drive pegs into the ground, check the diagonals and pull the cord. In this case, the dimensions of the pit under the tile foundation must correspond to its size( in our case 1.6 × 1.2 m).Since the building is designed for outdoor use, the ground under its base in winter will freeze and thaw. Therefore, in some cases, a sand cushion up to 1 m thick may be required.

It will be correct for the bottom and pit walls to be protected with with geotextile, which will prevent ground erosion by groundwater. The jigging is performed in several receptions. To do this, every 10-15 cm sand is poured, which after pouring is additionally spilled with water.

For the purpose of waterproofing and to avoid concrete leaks into the sand, two layers of ruberoid are laid on the prepared place. Further on the contour of the pit, after every 0.5 m, the pillars for the formwork boards are driven in and fastened with slopes. Strengthen and moisten the formwork.

Before pouring concrete, fittings are installed, for which a grid is installed at an altitude of 20-30 mm from the bottom along the entire surface of the foundation. Then, by means of vertical bridges at a distance of at least 20 mm from the upper plane of the base plate, a second reinforcing belt is installed.

Concrete is trying to pour in and ram in at a time. In this case, the monolithic structure and definite term of hardening of concrete will be ensured.

An indispensable condition for quality concreting is the maintenance of optimum humidity, therefore the foundation is covered with with tarpaulin .After the lapse of 3 to 4 hours after pouring on the surface of the base of the furnace, fill with sawdust or sand. Concrete is wetted with water for 1 to 2 weeks, until the foundation is grabbed completely.

Specialists do not recommend conducting concrete works at temperatures below + 5 ° С.If this is necessary, the concrete is insulated to make the setting process even.

Construction of the barbecue oven Gudkov

For the construction of the furnace body, fireclay refractory or red clay brick is needed in the amount of 465 pieces. Refractory material is preferable because it easily withstands elevated temperatures. If you decide to use a conventional ceramic brick, then make sure that the material has been burnt. Cracks, voids, insufficient firing are unacceptable. Not suitable for a barbecue and silicate bricks.

In addition, it is required to prepare the following furnace parts:

  • cooking plate with one 500 × 420 mm;
  • grating 500 × 420 mm for the brazier;
  • sheet metal 600 × 500 mm;
  • door for removing soot 140 × 140 mm;
  • the door for an ashtray 140 × 270 mm;
  • door loading 270 × 250 mm;
  • grate bars 300 × 200 mm;
  • corner metal with shelf length 32 mm, thickness 4 mm - 4 pcs.500 mm and 6 pcs.on 600 mm;
  • steel wire OE2mm - 10 m;
  • asbestos cord OE5 mm - 10 m.

Mortar for masonry

The bricks are laid on a clay-sand mortar, using plastic grades of red clay and coarse-grained sand, sieved on a sieve. The ratio of materials is chosen, depending on the fat content of the clay:

  • is added for 1 hour of fatty clay - 2.5 parts of sand;
  • for 1 hour of medium clay - 1.5 parts of sand;
  • for lean clay - a ratio of 1: 1.

Determine the degree of fat content of clay can be by the content of sand in it:

  • from 2 to 4% - fat;
  • up to 15% - medium;
  • from 30% is lean.

To prepare the working mixture, the clay is soaked for 1 day, and then, gradually stirring, sand is added to it. To prepare the solution, you can use special high-temperature mixtures of factory manufacturing, which can be found in the sales network.

Furnace shell

It is best to start work on the furnace from the temporary canopy, under which it will be possible to work in any weather. To avoid mistakes during the installation, the building can be laid dry.

Construction begins with the moistening of bricks. Red ceramic brick is lowered for one or two minutes into the water, and chamotte - rinsed from the dust.

Brick laying is performed with bandaging the joints in half a brick, keeping the joint thickness from 3 to 5 mm( the lower value is for refractory material).It is important that chips and cracks on the surface do not face the inside of the working chamber or chimney.

You will need to install oven appliances as you lay them. To ensure the reliability of the design, a wire is attached to the metal parts of the furnace, which is embedded in the masonry. Since metal and ceramics expand differently when heated, it is necessary to make a thermal gap of 3 - 5 mm, which is subsequently eliminated with an asbestos cord.

Procurement

After the level of the combustion chamber has been completely removed, a grill or metal burner plate is installed on the corners.

Metal corners are also used as support for the construction of the arch. The smoke channel can be 270 × 140 mm, 270 × 270 mm and 400 × 140 mm. To reduce the formation of soot on the internal walls of the chimney, they are plastered.

For finishing the barbecue oven, plastering, tiling or tiling, as well as simple jointing are used.

After the summer kitchen with a barbecue will be built, do not rush to test the stove at full strength. To avoid cracks, the oven should be heated in small portions of wood for a week.

Summer kitchen in the country with their own hands. Step-by-step instruction

The proposed design of the summer kitchen combines a hob, a small Russian oven, and also work surfaces that provide additional convenience during cooking. Installed under a canopy of boards or polycarbonate, the open kitchen will assume all the responsibilities for preparing various dishes and sunsets in the summer.

Construction of the foundation

After marking the pit under the foundation with the help of pegs and cord, start digging. Having reached the depth of the excavation of 35 cm, its walls are strengthened with formwork boards, and the bottom is covered with a 5-cm layer of gravel and compacted.

The is equipped with a two-layer armo shaft made of metal mesh and vertical steel rods. Ensure that the armature does not touch the boards, and after pouring was protected by a layer of concrete with a thickness of at least 20 mm.

After pouring, the concrete is compacted with by the screed , covered with a film and left for 2 weeks until completely set.

Case Layout

Laying starts from the corner, constantly monitoring the geometry of the rows and corners with the help of level and plumb.

In order to perform the shift of the rows to half a brick, the second row masonry begins to be banded together.

After passing two rows, equip the ash-pit by mounting its door into the front wall. In the overlapping of the working space above the blower, a grate is installed, and one above the furnace door. The combustion zone itself is made low, for one or two rows of bricks above the loading hole, otherwise the flame will not reach the plate with comfort.

The furnace body is built to a height convenient for further operation.

After making the masonry, fill the seams with a mortar and smooth it with a float.

Mounting of the

worktop The work surface is started with the laying of the supporting rods from the steel armature .They mount the formwork, which is poured with concrete.

After setting the concrete, the countertop is trimmed with a flagstone, carefully leveling the individual fragments and crevices between them. At the final stage, the walls of the summer kitchen are plastered or glazed with heat-resistant finishing materials.

Choosing a stove for the summer kitchen

Of course, in the summer kitchen you can install an electric stove or a gas stove, working from a bottle of liquefied gas, however, truly delicious dishes are obtained in a real wood stove. In the carefully heated space of a miniature Russian stove, it will be possible to cook hot dishes in cauliflowers or to bake amazingly flavored pies and pizza.

How to put the stove in the summer kitchen, written a lot of articles. Our design uses the simplest scheme of a Russian furnace. For its construction, a semicircular vault with a side channel is used, which is taken out to the common chimney.

The outer lining of the wood burning can be made sandstone, carefully adjusting the fragments of decoration to each other. After that, the joints are filled with a solution and smoothed with a spatula and a float.

The roof of the summer kitchen

After the stove and work area have been equipped, the roof of the summer kitchen will be set up. To withstand the stylistics, in which the proposed construction with a wood-burning stove is constructed, it is best to make a gable roof.

To do this, around the working space set a frame of a wooden beam with a size of at least 100 × 100 mm, after which make an overlap of wooden boards, metal or other materials.

Design and options for finishing the summer kitchen

By equipping the summer kitchen, I want to get not only the functionality and convenience of an open work area, but also a beautiful structure that is sustained in the style of other buildings and structures of the suburban area. The kitchen, located near the house, can be placed on a large veranda adjoining one of the entrances. A well-equipped barbecue area eliminates the need to install a portable barbecue. Around the summer kitchen planted ornamental plants and shrubs. If there is a need to obscure the structures, then use all sorts of arches and supports. Pergola, installed near the summer kitchen, will give the necessary shade on hot days and create a secluded corner for leisurely conversations and gatherings with friends.

In the process of creating the optimal working area, the main thing is not to overdo the elements of the decor. It is important to understand that cooking is the main purpose of the summer kitchen, therefore, if you want to cook on it every day, then one brazier will not work out. We'll have to install an electric, gas or wood stove. It will be difficult without other benefits of civilization, so the working area is supplemented with a sink, all sorts of lockers and shelves.

Special attention is paid to lighting .Open summer kitchen is equipped with a large number of small lanterns and hanging lamps. Closed space is better equipped with several large lanterns located above the individual zones.

To make the summer kitchen a truly comfortable and cozy place for a pleasant pastime, you need a proper approach to choosing furniture. A soft sofa or corner, three-dimensional chairs and padded stools in the summer kitchen will look inappropriate. At the same time, wicker tables, chairs and benches made of vines or rattan make the interior light and airy, fill it with a gentle, romantic atmosphere.
