Drywall is one of the most popular building materials. However, with all his virtues, he also has a significant drawback - he is not as strong as a brick or a tree. Therefore, often when trying to attach to the wall of plasterboard shelf or something else is a hole. Changing the entire sheet is a big problem. However, with a skillful approach, this hole can be "eliminated," and today we learn how to just seal a hole in the plasterboard.

There are several common methods for eliminating such a defect in the wall. Consider the simplest and fastest in execution. It is used for a relatively small amount of damage, which occurs quite often - for example, a wall is pierced with a door handle. The essence of it is to close the damaged area with a piece of the same material.

It is necessary to take a piece of plasterboard of the same thickness as the wall sheet. From it a square or a rectangle( depending on the shape of the hole in the wall) is cut out so that it covers the place of damage with a small margin( 1.5-2 cm).All the side walls of the resulting patch are neatly cut at an angle of about 45 °.

Now the figure needs to be attached to the wall in such a way that the hole is "centered" on the patch. After that, we draw a contour of this figure on the wall. Next, turn the patch backwards and outline one more outline( we, after all, were squaring off the sides at an angle, so there is another figure, internal).By the resulting inner contour in the wall, cut out the hole. This is done with a knife, a saw blade from a hacksaw, etc. Do not forget to cut off the wallpaper around the place that will be "repaired".

After that, the edges of the carved figure in the wall are sharpened. The external outline is the reference point. The task - the size of the patch and drank in the wall, as well as the angles of sharpening should be performed in such a way that the patch densely lays "in place" and does not fail. Therefore, a careful adjustment of the patch is needed. The edges of the figure in the wall and the patches should be covered with building gypsum, an adhesive compound or the like. After that it remains only to put the patch on the wall and press it. For reliability, you need to smudge the contour of the resulting joint, and remove the excess adhesive compound.

It should be understood that the described method is applicable only for damage of relatively small dimensions. If the hole in size is comparable with the dimensions of the sheet drywall, then you have to change the whole sheet, there's nothing to be done.
