To begin with, we will understand the definition: we believe that the "alcove" is a bed hidden by a canopy. In fact, this word comes from the Arabic "alqubba", which translates as "tent," and for many centuries was used as the definition of a room intended for meetings and conversations.

This is exactly what architects Vasily Butenko and Sergey Makhno invested in the name of their house, calling it the "Black Sea Alcove".Built at the very shore of the sea in the Crimean Mountains( Ukraine), the alcove is a real oasis for noiseless friendly parties. Divided into several zones by transparent and opaque screens, replacing all the internal walls, the alcove allows guests to break into companies with different interests.

Pay attention to the floors created from materials of different texture. This is what makes it possible to feel the autonomy of each of the zones, if the screens are removed or pushed aside. Namely, the mobility of the screens allows you to constantly change the layout of the alcove, in order to use it every time in a new way.

Decorated in retro style, the house still does not seem outdated and unfashionable. This is primarily due to the general consistency of all the details of its interior, and also because being in the house, you feel inside of one large room.

Now a little about the color scheme. And its architects narrowed down to just three basic colors - dark brown, dirty white( some of the elements of suspended ceilings) and orange( pieces of furniture and illuminated wall niches). It is this almost monochrome that allows anyone who finds himself in the Black Sea Alkove to feel comfortable, and therefore relaxed and safe.

As the architects themselves say, they originally planned to make the house devoid of doors, with walls of transparent glass so that the sun, penetrating through the internal screens, illuminated all the "rooms" of their alcoves. But the realities of life did not allow them to realize what was planned, but still it did not stop them from creating one of the most original buildings for parties, among the ones on our website.
