The branch of production of building materials has long stepped forward in providing the construction process with high-quality products. In place of permanent wall materials, such as ceramic and silicate bricks, new ones have come-different types of gas and foam blocks. Differing from the usual materials by a number of innovative solutions, these products not only simplify and reduce the cost of the construction process, but also allow to achieve higher quality of erected objects, significantly speed up the process of building buildings.

Among the whole family of these materials, the product of the Berezovsky plant "Teplit" twinblock stands out for its quality and compliance with the declared characteristics. Cellular aerated concrete, from which the twinblock is made, is chemically inert substance, it includes silicate sand, portland cement, lime, and also aluminum powder as a foaming agent. Due to the large number of fine pores, the twinblock not only has low thermal conductivity, but also is characterized by a low weight compared to other silicate building materials.

What is a twinblock?

When asked what a twinblock is and how it is fundamentally different from a lot of similar materials, one can answer the following: when using it, the most modern equipment is used, which determines not only the high quality, but also the ideal geometric dimensions of each product. The trademark "twinblock" guarantees that any two blocks from different lots will be similar to each other, which not only simplifies the construction process directly, but also allows to save considerably on finishing the premises. Such properties of the twin block make it possible to perform the final finishing without using tons of lime mortar to plaster the walls.

  • Affordable price and ease of laying are the determining factors for the wide use of twinblock in private construction, with the installation of blocks themselves using a special glue will cost less than ceramic bricks on the solution.
  • There is no need to prepare or deliver large quantities of perishable cement mortar to the facility, since storing and using dry mixtures on the construction site is much more economical.
  • The adhesive used, like the twinblock itself, has a low thermal conductivity, thus solving the problem of cold bridges.
  • Twinblock is available in several sizes for all types of partitions and walls. Each block has a groove-groove system that allows them to be folded like cubes of "lego", while grooves are arranged for the convenience of carrying and mounting on the wall blocks.

Technical characteristics of the twin block

The manufacturer produces a wide range of sizes of twin block for all wall constructions, which are marked in size and density.

  • TB-100 .Dimensions 625 * 100 * 250 mm.
  • TB-200 .Dimensions 625 * 200 * 250 mm.
  • TB-300 .Dimensions 625 * 300 * 250 mm.
  • TB-400 .Dimensions 625 * 400 * 250 mm.

Depending on the density, the physical and mechanical properties of the material differ. This makes it possible to select the tween-block needed in a particular case.

There are three types of twin blocks, differing in density:

  • twinblock D400 - density 400 kg / m3, strength class B 2.0, frost resistance grade> F35, shrinkage 0.59 mm / m, thermal conductivity 0.080 W / m · ° C, vapor permeability of 0.25 mg /( m · h · Pa);
  • twinblock D500 - density 500 kg / m3, strength class B 3.5, frost resistance grade F100, shrinkage 0.56 mm / m, thermal conductivity 0.115 W / m · ° C, vapor permeability 0.20 mg /( m · h ·Pa);
  • twinblock D600 - density 600 kg / m3, strength class B 5.0, frost resistance grade F100, shrinkage 0.58 mm / m, thermal conductivity 0.147 W / m · ° C, vapor permeability 0.17 mg /( m · h ·Pa);

All three types of units have a fire resistance limit - REI 240, as well as a specific effective activity - EPN 94.2 Bq / kg.

Scope of application

The scope of the twinblock is the construction of residential, public buildings of all types, low-rise construction. The technical characteristics of this material make it possible to successfully use it for the installation of external, internal walls, the erection of partitions, where, among other things, the high soundproof qualities of the twin block are valued.

After studying the given photos and video examples of the sequence of work with this material, it is possible to build a modest house, an extensive cottage or a solid mansion with the help of friends and relatives.

Pros and cons of the twin block

Like any material, the twinblock has its pros and cons. Its advantages include low thermal conductivity, non-flammability, environmental friendliness and excellent geometric characteristics. The main disadvantage of the material is its increased water absorption, therefore, the outer walls must be protected from exposure to high humidity. This problem is easily solved by applying a different kind of facade systems: from simple plaster to options that provide not only protection, but also additional insulation of the facade.

People living in houses built from twinblocks leave the most enthusiastic testimonials about their homes, because they are warm in winter and cool in summer, which is not only comfortable for life, but also saves a lot of money on heating and air conditioning of premises.
