Types and arrangement of a wood-burning stove
Wood-fired heating stoves are divided into several types:
- Metallic( steel);
- Cast iron;
- Brick.
However, despite the material from which they are made, the design of the furnaces is almost identical:
- A firebox( in which firewood is laid);
- Cast iron grate for coals;
- Ash collector for collecting and accumulating ash;
- Chimney for carbon monoxide output.
Steel wood furnaces
The advantage of such furnaces is that they are available in different sizes, so they are easy to transport and install. The heat-resistant steel from which such devices are made, quickly warms up the room, but, unfortunately, it also cools down just as quickly.
Wood-burning furnaces made of cast iron
The compact dimensions of this installation allow carrying it to any room. The structural properties of cast iron allow the stove to heat up very quickly and retain heat for a long time. As a chimney use a corrugated sleeve.
Brick stoves
Brick stoves on firewood - the most ancient and reliable way to heat a private house or cottage. In addition to the fact that it is able to keep heat for a long time, it is also possible to cook food on it. You can build such a furnace with your own hands, but it's better to ask for help from a specialist, because the design is very complicated and requires certain skills and knowledge.
Modification of such heating devices can be very different: with a stove, a couch or a fireplace option.
Requirements for wood burning ovens
The choice, purchase and installation of a wood-burning stove must be approached very responsibly, not only in terms of efficiency, but also safety. Install the oven on a special non-flammable stand in an area of 1.5 - 2 times the size of the device and remove all flammable materials. This is done so that accidentally dropped coals can not cause a fire. The chimney should be put on the street, and be sure to monitor its serviceability so that carbon monoxide does not start to go into the room, because it can lead to very negative consequences.
If you come to the dacha only on weekends, then when you leave it, you should scoop out all the coals from the furnace. The size of the furnace, and accordingly the furnace, must match the size of the heated room. It is not advisable to put too bulky stoves in small rooms and vice versa, a small stove will not be able to heat too much space.
Types of wood heating furnaces
By type of heating steel furnaces are classified into:
- Hydrolysis( two-chamber).Its peculiarity is that the heat is released not only from the burning of firewood, but also from the hydrolysis gas. The principle of operation is the following: when the shutter is closed, a gas is formed in the lower chamber, which enters the upper chamber through the grate and raises the temperature.
- Single chamber. It gives much less heat, so it is used for heating small rooms. Such furnaces are popular because of their low cost.
- Convective. It is an aggregate, in the lower and upper part of which there are lattices, thanks to which the cold air, rising from the bottom up, heats up and already gets hot into the room. At the same time, the structure itself is heated. However, such an aggregate has a significant drawback - its long operation leads to the accumulation of combustion products in the building. Therefore, do not use it more than once or twice a week.
