Paste antiseptic for wood - pest control

For a person antiseptics - the first remedy for protection from various kinds of inflammation, for a tree such substances are of equal importance, although, among other things, they protect against all kinds of pests. The latter often become the perpetrators of the destruction of wood - fungus, insects, various bacteria can become an unpleasant surprise, from which it is better to protect yourself by taking precautionary measures.

Antiseptic paste is the best remedy among other similar substances. There are two brands of pastes, 100 and 200, depending on how many grams of antiseptic is per square meter of surface .

In general, there are several types of antiseptics for wood: water-soluble, organosoluble, oily and, in fact, pastes. The first are widely distributed, cheap and do not hide the beauty of wood fibers, impregnating them to a rather large depth, their base can be different: chloride, fluoride and sodium silicofluoride. However, in view of the fact that the moisture is peculiar to evaporate, it is necessary to treat water-soluble substances every 2 years.

Organic soluble substances are made on the basis of white spirit and other similar solvents, repeated treatment with these compounds is recommended every 4 years on average. Oily antiseptics are very reliable and durable, but it is extremely unpleasant smell and for residential buildings do not fit. As for pastas, they, of course, presentable wood will not provide, but the safety for many years - more than.

Pasta for laminate and other wood materials

There are many shops where you can purchase various compositions for the care of wood-chipboards and sawn timber. However, sometimes such substances can not be found, or the store does not appear in a particular locality, in this case it is necessary to undertake the making of the composition itself. There is a special pasta for laminate, slightly different from the one used as an antiseptic for sawn timber, primarily in that it is not so much for maintenance as for repair.

If you can not buy ready-made pasta, we make it as follows: we take two cans of putty for wood, necessarily acrylic, preferably under dark walnut and pine. If you have these shades, you can, mixing components in different proportions, achieve almost any woody color. Next - just applying the resulting mass with a spatula and waiting for it to dry completely.

For the timber and logs, boards and slats, there are other recipes for pastes, and in all cases a water-soluble antiseptic is taken as the leading component. So, for example, it is possible to make a paste on the basis of coal grade bituminous varnish of class B( class A is not suitable as an adhesive basis).Mixing proportions are as follows:

  • for grade 100 sodium fluoride 33 kg, bituminous lacquer 12.5 kg, plastic clay( dry) 9.5 kg, water 45 liters
  • for brand 200 sodium fluoride 37 kg, bituminous lacquer 14 kg, plastic dry clay10 kg, water 39 liters

Clay should be poured with water 10 hours prior to the manufacture of the paste, after this period, add bitumen varnish with constant stirring. Then soak the thoroughly milled sodium fluoride with water( it must be sieved through a sieve with cells no more than 1 mm) and add it to the composition, also stirring constantly.

In winter, water and bitumen varnish for the same paste composition are heated to 40 degrees.

Another composition is made based on the extract of sulfide liquors. Of course, for brands 100 and 200, the proportions of the components are different. For the weave will require 25 kg of sodium fluoride, 28.75 kg of extract of sulfide liquors, 3.75 kg of peat dust and 42.5 liters of water. For two hundred, 40 kg of sodium fluoride, 26 kg of liquor extract, 4 kg of peat dust and 30 liters of water are necessary. The extract of liquors( sulphide, of course) is divided into small fragments, with a ruble coin of the size, and dissolves in water at room temperature with continuous mixing of the composition. Then peat dust is loaded and, lastly, sodium fluoride, soaked in a small amount of water.

When a repair paste for

laminate may be needed As a rule, laminate repair paste is used as a means for repairing damage, as well as for restoration with physical aging of the flooring. With minor scratches, a simple mastic for parquet can be used, followed by a cycle. But if you drop something heavy on the laminate flooring, or, moving furniture, plow a deep furrow in the board, you can not do without a repair paste. The composition is applied like ordinary putty, especially as, as it became clear from the above, this material can be used for making pasta at home.

Laminate aging is a long process, but sooner or later, traces of heels and pins, scratches, and even large areas rubbed to some depth( sometimes up to 2 millimeters) will be clearly visible on its surface. In such cases, no mastic will help, and ordinary putty can spoil the appearance of the laminate board .A properly prepared or matched paste in the store will help to eliminate any problem with the laminate, however, on top the applied mass should be carefully scraped to an ideal smoothness, after which the varnishing of a parquet or any other floorboard is suitable in color, or better than a colorless varnish.
