We fill the floor in the garage with our own hands

The final stage of the construction of the garage will be the concreting of the floor.

As it is best to make a pit in the garage, the floor itself - pouring is rather problematic, and you need to have some knowledge in construction work.

However, if you make a little effort, you can easily fill the floor in the garage with your own hands.

Arrangement of inspection pit

The first step is to prepare the reinforced mesh and install the formwork.

To begin with, you need to dig a hole in the garage for the inspection pit. Then everything depends on how you will finish the observation pit.

Some motorists trim the walls with bricks, but this approach is impractical, since the brick eventually breaks down, so the walls of the inspection pit are most reliably made of concrete.

The first thing you need to take care of the waterproofing of the inspection pit, so that the ground moisture does not fall into it.

For this you can use any available suitable material, for example - bitumen mastic.

When the waterproofing is installed, you need to tie the reinforcing mesh to the walls. To do this, one layer of the grid is sufficient, which will be somewhere in the middle of the wall.

When the mesh for the walls is ready, you need to tie the mesh to the pit floor.

It's best to fill the floor in the garage inspection hole. Since the reinforced structure and waterproofing are ready, this will not be a problem.

The floor can be poured just plainly, but the best way is to do it by level, because it will make it easier to work with the formwork of the walls.

When the floor of the inspection pit dries, you can start work on installing the lateral formwork. For this, four shields of the necessary size are made, which are then mounted in a box in the inspection pit.

The most important thing when installing a formwork is to put a few spacers inside the future pit, which will be supported in opposite walls.

After pouring concrete will accelerate the walls, and they will turn out uneven, it will also be difficult to remove the formwork. In addition, such spacers prevent breakthrough of the formwork.

After the formwork is made, the reinforcement is leveled, and the walls are simply poured with mortar. The solution must be liquid to completely fill the entire space, and cavities are not formed in the wall.

Therefore, when pouring walls, it is desirable to use a construction screed for concrete, which pushes concrete into such cavities.

When the pit is ready, do not immediately remove the formwork, because it will be needed in order to fill the floor in the garage with their own hands. After all, work on pouring the main floor - is still only coming.

Fill the floor with concrete

Before you fill the floor in the garage with concrete, you need to do the preparatory work.

First you need to remove all garbage from the garage, which remained after the work with the inspection pit, and also remove the ground from the floor, to a level so that you can pour a twenty-centimeter screed, and after that you could safely drive in by car.

In simple terms, the soil should be twenty centimeters below the level of entry.

The reinforced mesh is then knitted.

If one layer of reinforcement is sufficient in the inspection pit, then it is best to make two layers on the very floor of the garage, since this screed will need to withstand the weight of the car all the time.

The first layer of the reinforcement is lifted by means of supports to a height of five centimeters, after which reinforcement stands are put, so-called "toads", which are eight centimeters high, and the second layer of reinforcement is already knitted.

Thus, the mesh, both from below and from above - will be covered with concrete.

After finishing the work with the valve, you need to set up beacons, along which the screed will be poured. On the reinforced mesh it is best to make them from the same reinforcement, welding them with welding.

However, if you use fiberglass reinforcement, then it can not be welded, and you will have to put beacons in a different way.

You can simply put a few short pieces of reinforcement in the ground and at the correct height - tie the pieces of the reinforcement with wire.

After pouring, even before drying, this horizontal reinforcement is removed, and the vertical is simply cut off by the Bulgarian level with the concrete.

It is worth recalling that the formwork of the inspection pit should be leveled too, according to the upper level of the concrete, so it will not interfere with pouring, and will also serve as an additional beacon for filling the floor in the garage.

When the beacons are exposed, the concrete floor in the garage is poured exactly over them, as a result - a smooth surface should be obtained, without a slope, where you can safely leave the car not on the brake, and if necessary, it will be easily pushed.

At the end of the pouring, the floor should be moistened according to the instructions of the brand of cement that you used.

The most important thing when pouring the floor is to try to make it as flat as possible, then it will be very convenient to remove the debris, or to clean it of the dirt. In addition, the floor will look beautiful.

Fill the floor with cement

If the screed in the garage simply needs repair, then you can simply fill the floor with cement, but before you fill the floor in the garage with cement, you need to thoroughly prepare it so that the result is beautiful and durable.

The first thing to remove from the floor is all dirt and debris. In order to remove oily stains, you can use a solvent.

You also need to remove all pieces of concrete that do not stick well in the floor.

In order for the old and new ties to bond well, it is necessary to rinse the old floor several times with water, and after drying it, treat it with a "concrete-contact" primer, it is best to take the strongest labeling of this row of primers.

This will ensure good adhesion of the surfaces, and the floor will not crack with time.

After this, you can proceed to flood the floor with cement.

A liquid solution is made, but a very strong one, which is applied to the garage floor by a thin layer of a few centimeters.

You need to try to align the floor well. Also, the filling of the entire floor plane should occur in one day, so that there are no seams. After all, such seams in the future will still be cracked.

When the screed is ready, it must be watered for several days so that it does not crack.

Because a very strong solution is used for this repair, which simply burns out and does not become moist without humidification.

Humidification should be carried out two, three times a day, you can also cover the screed with used bags of cement or cardboard, the paper will retain moisture, and the concrete will dry much better.

Any repair work in the garage can be done in two ways, do it yourself, if there is time, or find a firm or masters who will do the work for you.

It is from this choice and will depend on the price of pouring the floor in the garage, because after learning the price for such work, you will be unpleasantly surprised.

Independent execution of works is a great way to save money, and although the result may not always turn out to be as you wanted, or not as high-quality as professionals, but it's not only economical, but very interesting, because creating something from nothing, this is the highest pleasure.

In addition, with the acquisition of experience, construction work can be a good addition to the holiday.
