The roll-up waterproofing of the bathroom is a material based on bitumen. These sealants are available in two types: self-adhesive and weldable. For laying the weld deposit it is necessary to use a burner, so self-adhesive sealants are more popular and convenient to install.

For such material, unevenness above 2 mm is not permissible, so the surface must be leveled. The substrate must be dry and treated with bituminous primer. It is necessary to glue the web very carefully, while it is easier and faster to work with self-adhesive material.

In case the surface to be sealed is uneven and there is not much time to do the work, the coating compositions are an ideal option for waterproofing in the bathroom. Please note that coating waterproofing materials are more expensive than roller coatings.
Bitumen-polymeric and bitumen-rubber mastics
These types of sealants refer to coating materials, and they are based on oxidized bitumen. As a rule, bituminous mastics are supplemented with organic solvents and various fillers, which increase the elasticity of the coating.
Bituminous mastics are famous for their excellent qualities, which include high adhesion values, which allow to apply the material literally on any surface: concrete, brick, metal, glass, plastic. Also, a coating made of such a composition has an increased resistance to external influences, which makes it durable and reliable.
Important! After the application of bituminous sealants, it is necessary to fill the screed.
This will provide a good waterproofing coating. It should be remembered that shrinkage cracks can form in the freshly filled screed, therefore it is necessary to add reinforcing polypropylene fiber to it. Due to it, the abrasion resistance and the reliability of the concrete substrate are increased, and the risk of cracks is reduced.
