Choosing a place for games
Picking up the place of the children's sandbox, observe the main rule - it should be clearly visible to parents. So do not put it under a balcony, behind bushes or plants, behind household buildings. Next to it you can put a bench or chairs for adults.
Secondly, children should not be in direct sunlight. If you can not put the design in a natural shadow, put a fungus or umbrella in the center of the sandbox. You can also make a removable fabric canopy on plastic or wooden sticks, which are screwed into the grooves in the corners of the sandbox.
Building a sandbox with our own hands
Mark the desired perimeter of the construction on the ground and remove 30 cm of ground. At the center of the square, dig a hole 70 cm deep and 50-60 cm in diameter. Note, the larger your sandbox, the wider the pit area.
The bottom of the groove in the middle should be laid with small gravel, flat pebbles or pebbles to ensure good drainage. Wooden boards should be placed under a slight inclination towards the center, so that the moisture dries quickly in the rain.
Base the entire sandbox accurately with polyethylene, geotextile or plywood with holes. These materials should be placed on the first thin layer of sand in 7-8 cm. So you will make a reliable base so that the sand does not mix with the ground and the insects do not hit the site.
All wooden parts must be carefully ground and treated with a layer of varnish. If you do not have drying oil, any solution from decay will do. After disinfection, the boards can be covered with varnish or paint.
First you dig each of the four bars 20 cm into the ground, and then nail the board to them. The wall of the rim should be 30 to 40 cm high, and on top of each wall you need to attach the seat-bars.

Sandbox with lid is very convenient. Firstly, it can be closed during rain and at night, protected from animals and birds. Secondly, open sashes can serve as a convenient bench for parents.
