Today we will look at electrical outlets for the kitchen stove, as well as the correct connection of the electric stove with our own hands.

Domestic appliances and especially kitchen stoves consume a significant amount of electricity, which requires a mandatory grounding of the enclosure. The complete set of domestic plates during the sale often represents the connectors of the RSh-VH - a pair of electrical outlets and plugs. This kind of connector was created back in Soviet times. By the method of installing the outlet, it refers to the products of open wiring, but nowadays it has been modified for concealed wiring.

The design of the pair eliminates the possibility of incorrect connection when used. The maximum declared operational current is 32 amperes( average power is 7 kW).However, the total power of the heating devices of modern electric stoves is on the average 8-10 kW and above, which is unacceptable for this connector. Simultaneous inclusion of all devices will serve as a fatal outcome of the connector. Today, the production of RSh-VSh in Ukraine, the price and quality of products are not high.

A pair of plugs-sockets of Belarusian production are quite good. They have a modern design and are more suitable for imported electric cookers, with cords and plugs not included in the kit.

Belarusian connectors withstand large volumes of electrical power than 32A, it is more convenient to use and during installation. They are installed in two versions, for both concealed and open wiring. At a price a little more expensive than Ukrainian, but much cheaper than European ones.

Sockets for electric stoves are installed in the same way as ordinary electric sockets. When installing for concealed wiring hollow out a groove in the wall, which is installed using a special solution based on gypsum box-podrozetnik any shape. Toward the sub-fan in the wall, the strob is hollowed out and the supply wires are laid in it, connecting them to the terminals of the socket. It is very important to connect the ground wire strictly to the terminal marked.

The socket mechanism is then fastened with special screws in the receptacle, at the end of the work the cover is put on. Installation with open wiring is accompanied by fastening the mechanism of the socket directly to the bearing surface of the wall without an additional podrozetnik. Be sure to connect the ground wire.

In the apartments of the new construction, the ground wire is visible immediately, its insulation is green( yellow-green) color. In old houses, all wires are monotonous and, as a rule, white. To find the right wire, first turn off the electricity completely in the apartment. Next, take an ohmmeter and one of its stylus clings to the radiator or a water pipe, and the second one turns on the ends of the supply wires. If the wire is grounding, the ohmmeter will show insignificant resistance, not more than a couple of ten Ohms, on the remaining wires the resistance will be infinitely strong. Thus, the detected ground wire is marked with a marker or tape for further simplicity, in contrast. The order of connecting the remaining wires is not important. How to connect the electric stove correctly

To connect the electric stove you will need:

1. Connectors. In the presence of an outlet, only the appropriate plug is required.
2. The wire of the wire ПВС 3 * 4 мм2.Flexible, three-core, length 1,5-2 m.

On the rear panel under the plastic cover of the electric plate there is a terminal block, which has several copper bridges. Opening the lid, you can see next to it a picture, usually depicting 3 connection options:

1. three-phase supply network - L1, L2, L3.N.PE.
2. two-phase supply network - L1, L2.N1, N2.PE.
3. single-phase supply network - L1.N.PE.

The right variant is the third one, we can connect the electric stove correctly with it. The jumpers are installed in accordance with the figure. Then on the wire ПВС from two sides remove the upper shell by 75 mm and the insulation from the ends of the veins by 30 mm, seal them with a ring. The vein with green insulation is attached to the PE ground terminal, left alternately to the terminals L1 and N( phase and zero).It is preferable to connect wires for phase conductors with brown or white insulation, and for zero blue colors, but this is not critical.

After the electric plug is connected. The wire with green insulation is fixed to the ground terminal, the others to the phase and zero.

The correctness of the connection is checked with a multimeter: the resistance between the grounding contact of the plug and the metal housing of the furnace is shown to be zero. It is recommended to remove the voltage from the socket before inserting the plug into it, disconnecting the machine in the electrical panel. Having done this, check by touching the indicator screwdriver of the metal surface of the plate body missing phase. If the order, a further check is carried out in all modes of operation.

Kitchen electric stove is to some extent stationary device, because for years it does not move from the same place. And in fact there is a variant of connecting it without an outlet. In the presence of a three-phase power line, it is best to connect an electric cooker to it. This is especially necessary for large loads on the stove, for example, in small cozy restaurants, the total capacity of the devices is much higher than 10 kW, which can not be sustained for a single-phase connector.
