Those who are fortunate enough to live in an apartment with a loggia tend to turn it into one( additional) full-fledged room. After all, the loggia from it is not very different. It remains only to produce glazing, and the subsequent stages and technology of work are the same as in other premises of the apartment.
The job of finishing the ceiling is to insulate it( plus the recommended waterproofing) and cover it with the appropriate material. It should be noted that there can not be a single "recipe" in this matter. The choice of finishing materials, the method of ceiling equipment depends largely on several conditions. This is the region of residence( climatic zone), the floor where the apartment is located, the side of the world, where the loggia "looks", the direction of prevailing winds and the like.
With the proper approach to the design of the ceiling and walls, in most cases it will not be necessary to think about additional heating of the loggia( underfloor heating system, radiators).Let's consider some variants of effective furnish of a ceiling.
Insulation materials
The ceiling must be insulated. After all, this is an ordinary concrete slab that absorbs heat well. The question is - what? Any recommended material is good in its own way. The main thing is to put everything correctly, observing the sequence of operations.
The most "cheap" way is to trim the ceiling with plasterboard. Can and panels MDF, PVC.However, such "warming" will be minimal. It should be fixed so that there is a small space between the slab and the material. This air layer is an additional insulation;
Plates of foam .However, in this case, you need to keep in mind that the "second" ceiling will have to be suspended. You can also sheathe, but then you will need a crate. The crevices formed between the sheets are sealed. Used everything that is at hand( mounting foam, putty, etc.);
Mineral wool .It should be used foil mined wool, but only if the ceiling is lowered;
Styrofoam ( penoplex).It is advisable to use, if in the future it is provided for plastering the surface with subsequent painting.
Polyethylene foil film .Its thickness reaches 10 mm. The foil will simultaneously perform the function of the waterproofing. Such material can be pressed by the profile or slats in the event that a "lowering" of the ceiling( for example, hinged, lathing for the lining) is provided.
Than to finish a ceiling on a loggia
Drywall .The process does not require significant expenses and time. Top putty put on top, and then anything: wallpapers, paint, decorative tiles. Panels of PVC .For such a ceiling, you must first sew on the slab rack( crate).However, this ceiling looks nice and easy to clean.
Molded board .The technology is the same as for PVC panels. However, one must take into account that the tree does not "love" dampness. Therefore, it is necessary to pre-treat the wood with a subsequent varnish coating - I described in detail how to cover the lining.
Painting is the simplest option. When the ceiling is leveled, a layer of putty is applied and then the painting is done.
Note
- if there is a glazed loggia on the floor above, it is not necessary to insulate your "ceiling" too "qualitatively";
- should pay attention to the thoroughness of sealing existing cracks in the ceiling plate. Otherwise, moisture will accumulate there, and this will shorten the service life of the insulation and finishing material.
