Floating ceiling materials

Two main materials are used to create a backlit ceiling:

1. Stretch ceiling. This is a ceiling covering fixed to a special profile under the main ceiling of the kitchen. The material is vinyl (PVC) or textiles. This is, perhaps, the simplest, fastest, less costly in terms of finance and installation type of "suspended" ceiling. It is enough to purchase a special curtain rod for the LED strip. Hence follows the main and, perhaps, the only design flaw - the accumulation of dust in the groove of the cornice, the difficulty in cleaning it.

Single-level ceiling

The classic single-level ceiling is created in one plane without any transitions. In this case, LED lighting is performed most often along the perimeter of the ceiling, visually increasing the space, adding some mystery and even something cosmic.

Duplex ceiling

In this case, a single-level ceiling is taken as a basis, on which an additional level of the structure will be superimposed. The shape of such a tier can be any: curly, island, straight, etc. This level is usually quite voluminous, allowing not only to create a unique ceiling, to increase the space, but also to visually change the geometry of your kitchen.

Tiered ceiling

This type of construction is not common in standard city apartments, because the more tiers, the more material is laid, the lower the ceiling in the kitchen will be. We conclude: it is advisable to install multi-level tiers in spacious rooms with high ceilings.
