When carrying out repairs in the house, it is often a question of the need to lay a new coating, such as a laminate, on the floor or in one room, or throughout the house. To date, the choice of floor covering type of labor is not. However, before proceeding directly to laying the flooring, it is necessary to fulfill a number of conditions that are common for carrying out this kind of work. Their meaning lies in the leveling of the floor surface - in fact only after that the coating will lie flat and it will look nice.

Screeds are made either monolithic or prefabricated. The first kind of screeds is made using different solutions( gypsum, cement or special mixtures), the choice depends on the humidity in the room. The second option - the use of special building tiles or dry screed.

The order of the floor screed

The first stage of work - preparation of the floor surface. It is necessary to make a preliminary rough leveling of the surface, to try with all the available irregularities( bumps, remains of cement or concrete) with the help of an improvised tool. It is necessary to remove the old screed, if it was, to clear the floor from dirt. If possible, vacuum it. After that, the floors should be thoroughly washed( maybe several times) and allow them to dry thoroughly. All the existing slots should be ground beforehand.

The next step is priming a clean surface. It is necessary to do this in at least two layers. The first layer is the primer for the floor. As a second layer, a mixture is used, which contains sand( for example, "Concrete contact"), it must have binding properties. This layer will ensure a strong coupling of the screed to the floor surface.

The third stage of the work is to correctly determine the horizontal, or "zero" level of the floor. This will require a building level. The work is simple: you need at a height of 1 to 1.5 meters on any wall to mark a point that is selected arbitrarily. After that, this point is uniformly projected onto all walls of the room. It is necessary, with the help of the building level, to keep a strictly horizontal line along the entire perimeter of the room. In other words, we obtain a plane strictly parallel to the horizon line. It is on it, and not on the surface of the floor, and should be guided when laying the screed, because even the most even floor can have any slope.

After this, it is necessary to determine the shortest distance to the floor surface, making measurements at different locations in the room. Where this distance is minimal, the floor height is greater. You need to focus on it, since the screed must have a certain thickness( not less than 3 cm).

leveling of screed Along the walls it is necessary to lay strips of some material, it is desirable that it is ruberoid. Then the L-shaped guides are installed evenly throughout the room( using a regular profile corner). It is enough "tens".The distance between the corners is from 1.5 to 2 m. They are fixed to the floor with a solution and gently leveled by means of a level.

The goal is to ensure that the level of all corners is strictly "zero".After the corners are tightly attached to the floor, the solution begins to be poured and simultaneously its surface is leveled. It is necessary to smooth the joints of neighboring bands.

It is important to properly "care" for the screed during the drying: moisturize 3-4 times a day. Full drying occurs in a couple of weeks. You can walk on the new floor after 4-6 days, but "load" should not be earlier than three weeks.
